Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

The old Edinburgh wool store seems to have been used as a grow farm. Note in the window saying the landlord had suspicions but the police wouldn't do anything. When he checked the building the occupants were just doing a runner.
Police apologies for bad response 😂

Possibly then harvested and used by almost every bugger in the Castletown area! You can get high as f**k just walking round these streets some nights. Can't you @gilbert grape ?

I open my door and get hit by either weed or something like body spray! Very odd! My car smells like I've smoked in it when I get in as it comes from the houses or gardens.

Same here. I'm pretty sure either side partake. What they do in their own homes is their business, but why should my home/belongings reek of the stuff?

Police have put data out about how may people have been stopped driving for drink and drugs, with both being well into double figures. I think that's lip service if they don;t have people on the ground addressing the bleeding obvious!
Police will probably read this- SO, IF YOU DO, TAKE A TOUR OF SOME LOCAL AREAS WITH YOUR WINDOW DOWN!

With all this cold weather a police drone with IR should easily pick up the new urban garden centres, if they're interested.

There's not a week that goes by when I don't get a whiff of the stuff. Even had it over the chase when walking the dog back when the weather was warmer.

Stafford also seems to be a hotspot for the noisy exhaust crowd, be it cars or motorcycles (with L plates). The cars are the worst as some splutter and misfire sounding like a gun going off, it made one of my dogs jump in the air with fright.

At least Cannock had the decency to get a high court injunction against cruising.

I wish Stafford would, car park opposite here don't half attract them.

I see some of them hanging about Wildwood Park car park. There's tyre marks where they've been showing off, plus always lots of litter.

I always remember when they used to congregate in Sainsburys car park in Cannock. They got raided one week, I can't remember the exact details, but there was about 4 or 5 arrests for possession of illegal drugs. Some cars taken away to be crushed. Loads with illegal tints. No insurance, no MOTs Just all the things you don't want racing around your roads at 20mph over the limit.

A few bad eggs in the pack? maybe, but I read one of their forums once and that scene does seem to attract them. One lad complaining about being convicted for dangerous driving because he had only overtaken two cars and a HGV in one manoeuvre :D

Mind you, the stupidest thing I've seen in recent times was a car recovery truck with illegal tints all around. Y'know a truck where good visibility is crucial when loading and unloading it, plus driving it into tight spaces.

Last year 2 had their cars impounded due to being illegal, have no idea why, think 1 had no mot, along with the window tints etc etc. In all honesty, I don't have a lot of problems with those that just park up and pose. They've spent a lot of money on their cars and are very proud to show them off. No, it's those that seem to have money to throw around on tyres and petrol. Driving round the long stay, thinking they're appearing on Top Gear, or sit opposite here, revving the bollocks off the engines, playing the music as loud as possible then tear off leaving half a tyre on the car park.
Giving a gobfull of abuse if you go and ask them to stop.
That's when I either get on the phone and call the Police or by the power of Facebook report them.

Personally I’d prefer the police spend their time doing something more useful than try to bust people for smoking a substance that’s slowly being legalised across the globe.

Where it is legal it’s actually less of a problem in public areas, because there’s cafes and such you can smoke in and they take their ventilation very carefully so that it’s all filtered out. It’s also easier to get oils, etc to make edibles which don’t require smoking at all so don’t have any of the smell issues.

IIRC UK weed has gotten worse over time because it’s criminalised, in countries where it’s legalised the stuff is far more sensible in potency as the folk running the stores put more care into the quality… seeing as, y’know, it’s a legitimate business. As a result, the UK has a problem with the smell of weed.

Nope, never touched the stuff. Didn’t even know what it smelt like till I moved to Stafford.

You don’t have to partake to think that criminalising it is bull. When my mum had pancreatic cancer we did a lot of reading up on things as THC was one of the few things that was actually able to give her some relief.

Studies actually show that a placebo has a greater effect than THC

Two things, legalising it is against a UN treaty. Secondly in the US many people still buy illegally as it is cheaper and stronger.
