Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Basically we were never allowed to leave school at lunchtimes, the only exceptions were a few children who had written permission to go home for lunch. So either school dinners or you took in a lunch box. (ok, so that was in the dark ages.)

Wilko store to become a Poundland.
With the caveat "While the deal includes "up to" 71 Wilko shops, a spokesman said the final total would depend on talks with the landlords of each site to agree lease terms."

Stafford one looks like a done deal.

It belongs to The Crown

The Freehold is only a right to be on the land, not own it

Tenancy is a right pay the freeholder a rent to be on the land that is owned by The Crown

You may own the lower stratum, the air immediately above the land, but not the higher stratum

You may own that which lies beneath the land unless it's coal, oil, gas or certain precious metals.

The Crown is also entitled to all gold and silver found beneath the property

Unless it’s in the shape of an antelope

In which case it’s owned by Dick Van Dyke

And the Beverley Sisters

Unless they are wearing red when strucken

Don't know how long this shop on Browning Street has been here but spotted it because they had some Christmas lamps in the window as I walked past.

I haven't really walked around that area since the Reynolds bar closed and I wouldn't really notice driving by.

I only noticed today because I was walking past en route to the bus after dropping my car off at Cole's.

But still no sign of any work on the Queens one,
I lied. Today work in progress on the new Poundland shop, shopfitters in the new Home Bargains shop and even the new charity shop to be has had all of the carpet samples removed. Sudden hive of activity, almost like a commercial version of the March Spend.

Recruitment has also started on home bargains too. If its not open by mid October I'd be surprised.

Reportedly 9th December

Yep, says that on the sign near Queens. I presume it'll take a while to recruit, get the fixtures and fittings up to spec, get the stock. Plus they probably have a few months left on the Hough site lease? (I presume that is closing?).
