How did you get on? as it's mayhem out there!!

The lovely little combo they have where Baswich Lane meets Weeping Cross meets Radford Bank, is a beauty!?

It's useful having both Weston rd and Beaconside worked on at the same time :master: I am running Mom across to Stafford Hospital this afternoon and usually go one way or the other depending on traffic. Looks like I'm buggered now whichever way I go. :grr:

Weston Road is usually a better bet, time wise, than Beaconside. Depending on where you are coming from obviously.

I'm between the two!!

What with the mommys (and some daddys) doing their school run and most being back at work now, it's a wonderful stuckin' sight.

I am coming over from Derrington side of town, so would usually come through Doxey up onto Queensway and then Western rd. I have also run round through Seighford and Great Bridgeford, under M way and then Beaconside if the town is blocked. Need to be there at 3pm.

Traffic holdups in Stafford are bad most days on the Lichfield Road to Baswich Lane stretch so all this just adds to the problem. I can't see it getting any better when the road works are finished either if you factor in all the new houses been built in the town plus the new shopping developments and all without road improvements. Staffordshire Highways department usually state "no objection" when commenting on planning applications so what can you expect?

Actually did ok - a quick dart down a side street at the right moment dodged most of it, although a car coming the other way trying to push it's way past forced me to move a lot closer to the parked cars at the side of the road than I would have liked...

This evening was fine, although I didn't head back until 5:30 and was heading out of town towards the Stone Road

I've not been anywhere near the top of Radford Bank for ages - I just avoid it entirely!!

Bizarrely there was no traffic at all on the Lichfield Road yesterday at 5.30 heading out of town... not even heading down to Queensville which is a rare sight even on the best of days. It only started building up at (what was) Freedom.

Don't worry, folks, when the fantastic new western bypass is built all the problems will be solved. I don't think.

I was at the Queensville traffic island yesterday about 11am and there was no other traffic at all. I just drove around it without pausing. It was weird. I thought maybe there had been a Rapture, but it was just the roadworks at Radford Bank holding dozens of vehicles back.
