Anyone know/tried any Stafford based Indian take-away/restaurant/places, with vegan options (mains, mostly!) on their menus?
Talking of Stone, I had a chunky booklet shoved through my door early yesterday advertising the Stone Food & Drink Festival on October 6th-8th. http://www.stonefooddrink.org.uk/index.htmMy favourite places to go (so far) in Staffordshire, for (dedicated) vegan options/menu;
Chico's, Stone
The confusion can come from terminology, i'm still farily new to the game and find it confusing.Went to the Black Country Living Museum on Saturday as part of a group visit with son's girl friend's work social club. The tickets included various things including a trip through the canal tunnel and a "fish & chip" meal. I was hoping that there would be a vegetarian option. There was. The guide giving the introduction said that there were two fish & chip shops but he had to warn us that the fish & chips were cooked in dripping so if there were any vegetarians in the party they should go to the larger shop where they could ask for their fish & chips to be cooked in oil !!! Even most of the dedicated meat eaters looked shocked.
Fortunately the tickets could be used in the other eateries around the museum. So the options seemed to be various cheese or egg sandwiches in the cafe by the entrance or the wider options at the Mechanics Institute - egg, cheese & cheese & pickle baguettes, vegetable soup or three bean & vegetable stew with garlic bread. The tickets were not usable in the pub or that would have added cheese rolls to the option.
My advice is to go across the bridge to the Dudley Canal Trust building, their Gongoozler restaurant is much better.
My brother was like that; I never found out why.I once knew a vegetabalist who ate fish and chicken. Only red meat counted apparently.
I've found the menu.I recently tried Chico's in Stone and the vegan options were plenty and they vegan dishes i had, were delicious (exclamation mark times two).
I regretted my starter but only because it was so filling, but when i clocked the couple next to me with their doggy bags, i had Chico's put almost half of my main in a takeaway tray and had Chico leftovers the next evening.
It's a must for any members of the Vgang, out there.

If you only eat animals that are herbivores does that count as being veggie?I once knew a vegetabalist who ate fish and chicken. Only red meat counted apparently.
