Totally agree with this.

I've made lots of friends in pubs over the years including a few on this forum who I probably wouldn't have met if it wasn't in a pub.

Who stays at home these days? That's so 2020 🤣
"I've made lots of friends in pubs over the years including" my wife who happened to be in the same one as me a long time ago.

So however do the under 50s make friends ?
Work, sports, hobbies? I guess they keep friends from school, college, uni etc... that's how my lads have friends...(Lads!?, 32 & 30 yes old 🤣)..

Daughter (18)...school, work, uni... Daughters made friends via friends too, so have the lads.,

Well yes.
I also have friends from work. I happened to see one of them in the Railway on Wednesday lunchtime and another in the Shrewsbury Arms yesterday afternoon.

I am under 50, I've got lots of friends and not one of them have been made in a pub.
I am under 70, not lots of friends. Met 1 at Judo in the 60s another through school/ neighbourhood again 60s. Then some geezer who guided a bunch of fools on a Transalpino adventure in '79......

I have a friend who was made in a pub. I remain hopeful that she will take it on some day, as she still lives there with her parents.

She works in a care home, so the training will come in handy.

Her standard greeting is "How are you?", but said with a manner that is almost daring you to say that everything is not perfect.

I may see her there later tonight.

Did you make her a friend in the pub or was she conceived (made) in the pub? 🤔
