Went to TPH last night for their Mexican night and boy was it good. We had the nachos to share starter which was great, good portion between two and loads of cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Our mains were quite boring with us both having Fajitas, a vege and a chicken - didn't look a huge portion when it came (two wraps and a tea cups worth of filling) but considering the price of the menu it was fair enough and actually did fill me up. The filling up was also helped by the fact that we had some "chilli poppers" which are essentially mozzarella sticks in batter which were yummy but despite the name not spicy at all. Also we had some chips and they were delicious - must have been twice or thrice cooked or something-or-other as they were some of the best chips we've ever had.
Special mention to Matt from TPH as he was a really nice guy and looked after us really well. TPH if you are reading this the please pass on our thanks. Also I was unsure about taking out one and a half year old to TPH in the evening but checked when I booked and they said it was fine and it was.
Constructive feedback - a small pot of grated cheese might have been a nice option with the fajitas and also mine weren't very spicy and lacked a little chilli - I should have asked but wasn't sure how they would be so maybe you could offer them. Also for what I consider the poshest restaurant in Stafford, having your menus printed on such floppy paper seems a bit cheap - perhaps you could invest in some thicker paper?
Will definitely be back as there are at least two other dishes I want to try on the Mexican menu. My next outing will be The Swan though, probably to try the vegetarian and vegan night.
All in all the night cost £45 - £25 for the two Mexican menus, then the remaining £20 for the 2 sides, bottle of water, a medium glass of wine (£5) and two coffees afterwards.
