Where were you all this evening, shame on you. Chris went to alot of trouble tonight. Despite some you failing to show up it turned into a really good evening with some interesting comments and observations. Chris, thank you for your excellent hospitality and thank you to David from ABV for leading tonights discussion . I really appreciated the opportunity to comment on the refurbishment proposals for this Stafford Icon

Totally agree with stafford dunc on this, the evening was very interesting, the effort made by the hosts was very good and david at abv was a very good lead. I think its a shame that despite saying people would attend, they didnt, this was an effort by a local business to reach out to the local people in the town to find out how it can improve and actually listen to peoples feedback.

People are very keen to complain about things when they feel they are not listened to but this was a chance to air thier views and thoughts. After the comments about the post house failing to take notice of the forum and peoples views i think its a shame that when a business does genuinely want to listen people dont bother, but whats worse is that people said they would go and then didnt.

I would imagine its the same people that may be complaining about the number of empty units in the high street and the number of independant businesses closing, well this was your chance to support an independant business to make sure that it continues to perform well and reamains a successful business and employer in the town and you blew it.

On another note, there was more food for me so i cant complain too much.

That is a poor show to be fair.

Had a meal in the Bear last night. One of the best mixed grills I've had in ages. Excellent service, excellent quality and American sized potions. Only 2 onion rings but were they big. It consisted of steak (coooked medium rare), gammon ( thick and succulent), pork ( juicy) lamb chop, black pudding, 2 sauages, grilled small extremely sweet tomatoes, onion rings (the size of life rings exaggeration but still big) and 2 sausages. Forgot home cooked fries

You say home cooked fries, do you mean proper chips or straggly american things? Big thing with the missus is real chips, gets annoyed when you eat out and they just bung some frozen rubbish in the fryer. If you can't make chips I don't trust you with a steak!
