i'm not sure you understand the concept of proof..shoes said:War

How's that for a start?
Whilst I agree with the sentiment, this statement goes against scientific principles. Just bevause you can't prove something exists does not prove its non existence.shoes said:There is no probably about it, there is no god. Fact. There are unexplained events and unanswered questions yes. Does this mean turning to blind faith? Only if you don't want to try and understand science.
but people who believe in god aren't just making something up, are they? they are putting their faith in widely accepted beliefs and dogma, practised by millions worldwide..shoes said:No thats fair enough but just because I can't prove something or don't understand it doesn't mean I should make something up does it? Thats just ludicrus.
No it isn't, it's exactly that. Just because millions of people share a common view doesn't make it right. Essentially they’re just believing something which someone else made up because they think (for reasons which I doubt I will ever understand) is a perfectly rational and feasible explanation to life.dirtybobby said:whether they are correct or not, it's a million miles away from saying "i can't prove god doesn't exist, therefore i will start believing in a celestial teapot which i have just made up."
How disturbing! I'm never going to wash my hands again!Markerat said:http://gallery.roadbikereview.com/data/roadbike/500/Hasselhoff.jpg
no, it's not.. if you can't see the difference between something 1 person believes vs. something 6 billion people believe then i'm not sure how else to explain it to you..shoes said:No it isn't, it's exactly that. i said 6 billionshoes said:All it means is that 6 million people are a deluded as the person with blind faith in an unprovable creator and higher being.
i agree, however no-one mentioned worship.. i believe in god, but i don't worship anyone/anything or subscribe to any particular religion.. 88% of the world's population believe in god, but that doesn't mean they are necessarily religious..shoes said:Either way dedicating your life to worshipping this non entity is absurd
