Yesterday in Manchester I saw
- an old drinking mate on the opposite escalator at Piccadilly station,
- then one of my son's mates who was walking past a pub we were in before the game,
- then to top it all we were in the Old Trafford bowling club and a father and son were in a queue standing next to our table. We recognised each other but couldn't think from where. Turns out he was the ex partner of a friend of mine's new mother in law and we'd met at the wedding in South Wales.

Small world, eh?

On our honeymoon in Cuba, the carer knew people from Stoke! No escape.

In our younger days , was walking whilst holidaying n San Antonio, Ibiza and heard hubby's name called. Ignored it as no one knew us there. Then my name was called.
Hubby's aunty, uncle & niece who we hadn't seen for years! Had a great rest of holiday with them , but never saw them again since ( and won't again as now popped their clogs)

In 2006 or 2007 while walking through Falmouth to the Seven Stars I heard my name called, looked round and it was Pete Turner from the Spittal Brook.
About five years ago in the Star, Penkridge I was recognised by an old friend from Wolverhampton I hadn't seen for decades. Since then a small group of us have been able to have three reunions.
Giving quite a few more examples would risk an "Oh no, not another topic ........." comment.
I does though make me realise how much all those who drink at home are missing out on.

I seem to remember he had a holiday home down there.

Doesn't normally stop you.

Yes, a holiday home down there or was originally from Cornwall, though in Derby before Stafford.
So the good company to be encountered in proper pubs is "nowt"?
