Psst it's mostly Uluru now.I imagine that wouldn't go down too well in Oz right now … unless you wanted to be nailed to Ayers Rock.
It's always been Uluru. It's just that the white invaders decided they would call it something else.Psst it's mostly Uluru now.
I know sadly some (like my parents) refuse to change it. They are only just getting the hang of ZimbabweIt's always been Uluru. It's just that the white invaders decided they would call it something else.
It's surprising how quickly it fades away when people actually stop 'reinforcing' it by continued use.I know sadly some (like my parents) refuse to change it. They are only just getting the hang of Zimbabwe
I still convert my petrol 'litres' receipt to gallons so that I can see how many MPG the car has done. I still work in feet & inches and 0z & lbs . Went into a furniture shop a few months ago with son and I'd measured in inches. Young assistant hadn't got the foggiest idea how long an inch was ....same as me with cms ....It's surprising how quickly it fades away when people actually stop 'reinforcing' it by continued use.

I have maintained my fluency in £sd - just in case - now waiting for Rees-Mogg to demand its return.
I was only taking the piss out of him for having 'his seat' stolen....a forumite trying to engage very light conversation with one of the well known Lidl staff at Madford and getting absolutely no response.
