Trouble playing video full-screen. Any Answers?

Does anybody have an idea why my screen would go completely white when i try to make videos go full screen? The sound remains but the picture disappears.

On google chrome if this makes a difference.

Yes, have just checked and still working fine in IE. I am not at liberty to answer your other questions.

you could be missing some essential internet plugins for the chrome browser. If you link us the video on here maybe we could try with chrome to see if the same thing happens?

It is happening with all videos ie youtube, bbc etc.

The AT-AT Day Afternoon youtube vid i posted earlier for example was playing in full screen mode fine on IE but not on chrome.

Strange... no problems here so it can't be the chrome browser in general.
Did you have it working previously in chrome or is this the first time at trying it full screen?

Has worked fine up to now - problem started either yesterday or day before.

Seem to remember a flash update recently but couldn't tell you what/when.

Try re-installing flash from the adobe website via your chrome browser

Have just tried but the version on offer doesn't mention chrome as one of the options. Installed anyway but hasn't made a difference.

I have a feeling the same thing happened on our computer, none of the videos would play, BBC iPlayer said something was missing etc etc. We were using Internet Explorer. We switched to firefox and it sorted of fixed itself. Not a very techy answer, but hey.

Non-techy answers are very much up my street.

Tis a bit annoying really, as i have got quite used to using google chrome.

I guess i'll just have to use IE for vid watching.

The same thing happened with IE after a flash update, so i uninstalled it and installed an earlier version which has done the trick.

However the same problem occurs when using chrome. How come the uninstall would affect one browser and not the other?

Each browser has it's own location for the plugin, the downloaded plugins are for each browser. A bit like pumping up one tyre at a time on your car and not all four at once.

So where would i find the location for the chrome plugin? And how would i recognise it as such?

Just go into your add/remove programs in control panel and uninstall all flash plugins (it's likely you'll have two)
Then back into each browser and re-install them.
I've updated to latest plugin on all browsers and not having any problems here
