Trouble playing video full-screen. Any Answers?

Does anybody have an idea why my screen would go completely white when i try to make videos go full screen? The sound remains but the picture disappears.

I had to install the new version of flash to access another site and the same thing occurred. I found this solution on a help forum whatsit;

"1. Right-click in the standard youtube video window (non-full screen).
2. Choose 'Settings...' from the Flash Player's pop-up menu.
3. Uncheck the 'Enable Hardware Acceleration'
4. Click 'Close'.

Full-screen should now work......"

... and indeed it does. Just a quickie - would any problems arise from 'un-abling' Hardware Acceleration?

Also, i forgot to uncheck a box that meant 'McAfee Security Scan Plus' was automatically downloaded with flash. Is there any point in keeping it or should i just get rid of it?

..apparently, it's to avoid them rolling away when they are used as territorial boundary markers, rather than as an ice-breaking trick at parties.
