I dont have anaphalaxis, but do have a severe allergy to wasps and bees ( wasps more so), I swell up like a balloon and have to hit the inhaler like a glaswegian alcoholic hits the cans of cheap aldi lager. I went to the doc ( many moons ago) and he said to me in all seriousness, " Dont get stung on your neck or face, you could die" Its not like I make a habit of kissing bees or anything, actually have ( like most people ) very little choice about where the little flying bstards stingie me.
We had a nest in the loft once when I was a small girl, and my dad used a paint stripping blow torch and lighter fluid to great effect, the only problem was he set fire to the beam to which the nest was hanging and had to beat it out with a nearby book, which also promptly caught fire ( I am informed it was the D&D first edition rule book). Screaming madly he then threw a large tarp at it which thankfully smothered the flames, but as he climbed down the ladder from the loft, plased with his heroic attempts a solitary wasp stung him on the hand and he fell down the ladder steps hurting his back.....The following year we got the council out.
