This was issued fifty years ago today.
At the time, I thought it was a vision of the future, but most people I knew seemed to regard it as self-indulgent nonsense that would soon disappear.
Around 1978, I borrowed the LP from the library and a book about Tutankhamun came home with it, full of colour pictures of the grave goods that were found in the tomb.
I generally don't interact much with whatever dreams I do have, but after reading the book and playing the record, the dream that night can still be recalled clearly. The entirety of the king's funeral procession, in glorious Technicolor, with the musicians playing the full Autobahn LP - all the tracks on both sides.
It remains one of the few dreams that I have even the slightest recollection of.
