as our potential link.
These, [ and ], are square brackets, for ease of reference [ = L(eft), and ] = R(ight)
That is, when i say 'L' i mean [ , when i say 'R' i mean ] - are you still with me?
So - if i want to add a link pure and simple i would put L in front of the three letters url and R after, then add the link address (ie http://www.staffordforum.com/viewtopic.php?pid=137830#p137830) then put L then / (forward slash) url then R, which would give me -
http://www.staffordforum.com/viewtopic.php?pid=137830#p137830
Alternatively i could put L then url then = and the link ( http://www.staffordforum.com/viewtopic.php?pid=137830#p137830 ) followed by R, and then write something like This Could Drive Someone Batshit Crazy then put L then / (forward slash) the R, which would give me -
This Could Drive Someone Batshit Crazy
You can find an almost certainly more coherent explanation if you click on -

You don't actually need the [/b] tags (unless you want to do the fancy [url=http://www.google.com]text label linking that you mention); The Forum automatically parses URLs, so all one needs to do is:
1) Make sure you are on the page you want to show people.
2) Click once in the white bar at the very top of your screen. This is known as the 'Address bar', and should contain the URI to the page you are looking at (it will start with either http:// or www, and may have slashes and what-not in it).
3) Hold the CTRL key on your keyboard and press the C key at the same time.
4) Make a post on The Forum in the normal way. When you want to put your link, just hold the CTRL key again but this time press V to paste the link into your message.
5) Finish composing your message, and press the Submit button in the normal way. You can, of course, click the Preview button first, just to make sure you have done it correctly.
That's assuming you're on Windows, of course.
