Stafford local legends - You had some characters!

I have seen them several times since my previous post. Moving, ethereally, purposefully, towards the dirty carrots.

I still haven't found an excuse to speak to them but I am always excited to spot them and pleased that they are there.

They will remain Jesus & Julian. I'm having no truck with this 'Joseph' idea of yours. He has been Jesus since first appearing to me 30 years ago by the duck pond in Victoria Park.

See what a Catholic education has done to me? No idea of trigonometry and a nagging feeling that apparitions can appear unto thee just as long as you don't run in the corridors or eat in the street.

No excuse is needed to speak to Julian. Trust me.

(Some poor bugger in GCHQ is having to stay back to cover these posts)

Pubs may fall, businesses razed to the ground but in Doxey, you can always find dirty carrots and Jesus.

'Dirty carrots and Jesus' - surely a googlewhack? If not, what on earth is wrong with people?

Ewww.

I think, if people want words to describe behaviour like that, they should have to use a made-up language rather than spoiling ours. Failing that, they should acquire a hobby or go for a walk. Some folk have too much spare time.

I'm not sure if it's already mentioned on this thread but Julian was a postman on Lichfield road main works site and that's how I knew him. Not seen him for ages though. Even though he was doing you a service he'd often back out of the office thanking you while saying bye!
