ASDA introducing Pay and display parking

It's hard to say. With the previous system it was free but said to be for customer use only. Now it's cheap, but is freely useable by anyone. I personally know people that would only have parked there before if they were going to do some shopping there and were too honest to abuse it for any other town visit. Those people will now happily pay the £1 as they aren't doing anything wrong.
I was 1 of those people, next week i will happily pay my pound go over the road, and then maybe go into asda after, not bothered about the quid i will save !

For anyone complaining about parking charges in Stafford, I paid £20.50 to park in Manchester today.

This conforms to Mikinton's First Law of Car Park Charging, which states :-

"Car park charges increase with distance from the town limits."

This law combines two effects, namely that car park charges decrease as one moves away from the town centre ..... and that charges in the centre of big towns are higher than those in small towns.

(I once impressed my boss with this whilst on a business trip.)

Clearly unaware that your boss had doused themself in petrol and was frantically looking for a box of matches.....

This is better. Maybe they've started listening after all...

That.s actually not a bad price.

I always park on what I still like to call Kendal's Car Park and that costs £24 for 4-6 hours!
I use an NCP near the Bridgewater Theatre. Easiest one for me to get to.

Behave.

Actually that particular boss was of a similar mind to myself - those who know me through my ID will know exactly who I'm talking about. I can remember having a similar discussion with him about which lane on a motorway to move to if you can see traffic up ahead slowing but don't know which lane is being closed off (assuming you have the freedom to move to any of the 3 lanes).

Talking to bosses on the motorway - I had one who had no sense of humour - he once broached the subject of health insurance and felt the need to confess that he had just joined BUPA - "Actually, I don't know what BUPA means..?" - "Well, John, it's an Arabic word for queue-jumping", I said, having heard it on a radio comedy the night before.

That was at Junction 19 - no more words were exchanged all the way back here - or for some weeks afterwards..

Try Cambridge, depending on the car park £24 to £26 all day except for the dodgy one which is only £13.50 - or use park & ride which is a lot cheaper.

You should have said!

You could have parked at mine, walked 1min to the train station and paid £3.50 to get you right into the center!

Hope you had a great time!
We did have a good time thanks. I'm happy to pay that much as it was convenient and my car was covered but thanks for the offer.

.... like does she even have a spare room so that we can drive back the next day? These premier inns can work out expensive so if you're going to offer this sort of thing you really do need to be prepared. Haha
