New stores in the guildhall

You said John Lewis was going in Top Man, this is River Island I am talking about they are opposite ends of the mall ???
Yes, definately John Lewis. Because there are no individual units large enough for one of their normal stores, they are moving in to several small units dotted around town. Different sections per unit.

I believe they may also be going into partnership with Morrisons to take over the old M&S.

Great if that is the case yet it doesn’t seem very cost effective, multiple rents for multiple units?
Hopefully that will be good for the town, I hear Starbucks may be reopening in a few months time but laura Ashley is closing :(

I know nothing about Starbucks but have it from an impeccable source that The Swan is to become a new drive-thru Burger King.

The Swan used to be a drive-through, from Greengate Street, in the old days - this could make the planning process a little easier to navigate.

I guess Kingsmead isn’t really their style (and it’s with all the riff-raff like B&M and Aldi).

No surprise given how expensive they are for everything.
I truly don't understand how they stay open.
They cater towards specialist electronics, but anyone who would be interested is tech savvy enough to know they can get things around 1/3 cheaper anywhere else.

Emergency bits and pieces generally. Sometimes they're cheaper than Amazon - got a digital caliper there and that's all I've purchased from there in quite a long time.

I'd imagine it's more a convenience factor, sure you could get it online, but if you're in a fix, and need something fixing then, it's good to have the option of popping somewhere local.

I have messaged John Lewis and they have said that they aren’t opening a store in Stafford.

I can't believe you expected them too... There's more chance of them going bust then opening in Stafford. In any case, you have the massive one at the bullring, like twenty mins away.
