I have no idea. Ive tried to find out from my mate, the former manager, but he remains tight lipped.

I saw him at the store the day before he walked out and he never said anything. The only thing that he mentioned to me that he was off to have a meeting with his area manager.

It's not something to do with the "new" notice in the window is it, saying the store is now a franchise basically, and is using the name solely under license.
It does say something about how it shouldn't be confused with "cash converters" .

Nothing wrong with updating a place and making it look more welcoming and attractive the front looks dingy at best and don't be a hypocrite

The fact they seem to be going through s resurgence it seems to be working

Indeed, it'll look a look more appealing when the works complete. :)

Last night i watched the canopy being removed as i sat enjoying a pint of hell at no.7.

Id love to see the 1st floor at the guildhall opened again and lift / escalator by the gym reinstated. Sadly, im not sure those things are now possible.

The managenent of the guildhall have made some stupid mistakes over the years. Hopefully that's now in the past.

I hope the market is revamped too. Id love to see the market be more integrated into the centre. Personally, id like to see the internal doors to the market removed and the stalls redesigned and reconfigured.

How many units are actually available on the first floor? Is it just the old JJB?

EDIT: I didn’t realise there are actually more shop fronts up there. HMV’s old unit extends 3 floors!

What resurgence? Serious question as when I last walked through the place it looked like I’d see tumbleweed blowing through.

Well before Christmas they almost doubled their store numbers with the entertainer, the works, yours, shoe zone moving in with supercuts in a far better position and Redrum having taking the old pie and ale house, these alone have significantly improved the guildhall offer

A new shop ( hopefully another brand) and the work they have done internally have certainly improved and brightened the look of the place.

It may say a lot about how poor the offer was before, but it is a huge improvement none the less.

Does anyone know who the new shop retailer will be that’s moving into the old Top Shop?
