Would it help if there was a Backstop between the Kingsmead Car Park and the Shopmobility forecourt ?
Do you mean Kexit? That'll take years to agree

It's only drivers who can't leave the site. What if a car with five drivers arrives? Also, how about if a vehicle stops just outside the site and gets pushed in?
What happens if you can never leave?
Who needs the hassle? These are all PCNs and are barely enforceable anyway. You never admit that you were the driver, ask for proof, etc and watch as they drop it
Just don't park there. They'll change things soon enough when Aldi sees a drop in turnover, just as they did with ASDA.
Asda have lost lots of custom off me since they tried that parking policy . For years I used to park in Asda weekly , do a big shop there and and sometimes nip quickly into town for the bank and few oddments at the same time. When they started the 'no leaving the carpark ' thing , I stopped shopping there at all for a long time. I park and shop in Asda very occasionally now if I need to go into town on a weekend , but mostly shop elsewhere nowadays.Asda were charging their own shoppers which was part of the problem for them and hence customers voted with their feet.
That is indeed true - and I never pay to park, but the problem (for many people) is that there are a large amount of (ever-changing) variations and, unless you know and keep up-to-date with the current situation, there is always a risk of being caught "innocently".Plenty of very cheap options to park in town.
Having successfully eradicated town centre shoppers
Missing the point - Kingsmead was supposed to generate footfall to that end of the town, which it has, but stopping people using the carpark for town will effect that footfall. The Council should have put in some clauses to ensure this never happened when selling off our carpark. This was a popular car park for Gatehouse visitors also in the past.Kingsmead are not charging B&M and Aldi customers to shop, so if anyone is genuinely shopping there they won't be affected .

Bloody anarchist!I have just parked in there and left without entering a shop.
