I'm not sure who gets the raw deal, the females or the males?

Not that you get a choice here (if you're the poor animal) but one or two days of life or a few weeks/months/years of a really miserable life, umm, choices choices.

Look at the 6th and the 12th, then compare to the others...

I saw how they keep chickens here in Morocco today, and by that I mean from being a chick to when they are taken live to the butchers (where they wander around on the floor until the customer chooses to end their life by buying them). It seems they are put in stackable trays as chicks and live in these stackable trays in a dark shed their whole miserable lives until the trip to the butchers. Very distressing seeing live animals suffering like this.

Oh man, awful.

It's not that much different to how they're treated here in the UK, slightly stricter rules but still barbaric.

I guess you knew you'd see stuff like this being in Morocco but that's no consolation or a chance to prepare yourself, when you do come across it.

That aside, i'm sure it's an amazing place!

Yes, we did, and it's not been as bad as I imagined it would be to be honest. Certainly the cats seem fed and the horses are now overseen by Spana which has improved their lives massively. Just need to remove the monkeys in the Djamaa El fna!
