Kyoto, I'm afraid your too late to make representations on the rugby club application. The deadline for consultation responses passed some months ago. Furthermore, the officers report has now been completed and it has been recommended for approval. I suspect the only reason why the application was deferred is for either a site visit or because a councillor requested more information.

I have to confess to being more than a little cynical about complaining, but I will give it a go. Iremember even writing letters to the paper about the disgrace the council imposed on the people of Stafford which masquerades as the new 'Sports' centre. It did no good and now I don't know anyone who uses the useless leisure centre. All the things we used to do are no longer catered for :(

As I suspected to be honest. I didn't even know the plans were in :( Shameful disregard for our green spaces once again.

The Marshes will be gone in a generation mark my words, the Council let anything and everything be built on sites so close they may as well get rid of the marshes altogether. I mean floodlights, car parks and a club house? Not to mention the new road that will squuze it on the other side.

As an aside I spoke to a member of the planning committe recently about the hedge that was ripped up on the beaconside road, and asked why it wasn't a condition of the plans that it was kept. The response shocked me, don't know why, I always expected so much, but he said "the planning commitee probably didn't even know there was a hedge there". What?? like they approve plans for hundreds of houses without even visiting the site??? I was so angry I was rendered speechless, which is probably a good job for said planning member. the whole thing is disgraceful.

Stafford's planners move in such mysterious ways that a cynic might imagine there was something dodgy going on. This sort of thing...

The Weston Road trees are a delight but I fear they are slowly being sliced down one by one, every few months or so, and not replaced.

Classic council cost cutting exercise?

No pun intended.

I was at back2bikes earlier today, in she morning they were cutting down the trees along the riverbank - by the time I went back at 1.30 only one was left! Very sneaky!

Which part? could you stick a link here @littleme ?
I was at the units on greyfriars, & this was all fenced off next to it, it must be directly behind Tenpin Bowling? They're big trees too, wish I had taken a picture now...

(sorry can't do links on this phone)

It depends on the contractor they may be asking for a wider strip to allow safe works then reinstate after completion

The trees on greyFriars they are taken down are rotten. They have branches falling off all the time. Dangerous to property near by hence why they are coming out.
