Rolykit for two quid from the Hospice Warehouse.

..doesn't the woman on the phone sound like she's talking through a set of bagpipes..?

That looks oddly familiar!

On a side note I see Sainsburys are selling Russian Standard Vodka 1L for £15, they also have a £15 off voucher for new online customers (7NVD-CF3Q-7RCX). I think the cheapest delivery slot is £4, so £12 a bottle! I only ordered one and stocked up on ciders with the rest.

Just bought another (unnecessary) chiming wall clock from the Hospice Warehouse for twelve quid - it seems to be working tolerably well without any attention so far, but I'll have a good look inside later.

I saw it yesterday and agonised all night.

Looks very like this, but with a silencing lever.

Wilkinsons have lovely big panettone for £3. Big box, ribbon, everything. I got four Christmas presents for £12 and was feeling incredibly chuffed until I saw a Morrisons advert saying theirs were £2. But that would mean going into a strange supermarket and I know my way round Wilkinsons.

So on balance, still a boast.

120g packs of ham, baked or peppered, from chicken John in the market. 2 packs for a quid or 6 for £2, so I got 12! Works out about £2.75/Kg, dates are 23/24 but most of mine are destined for the freezer anyway.

Was in Lidl earlier and they'd reduced all the Christmas dead things. Got a whole duck for £2.50 and 2 duck crowns for £2.05 each :D

... some people were very greedy buying 3 or more tonight

One fateful Xmas, it may well have been the first one living back here after living away for some time, i made the mistake of leaving my food shopping til late on Xmas eve. There was not a single turkey based item on the shelves, no chickens, no nothing - it looked like the aftermath of a mass looting event.

There was a solitary pheasant at the butcher's counter type thing which i grabbed purely on the grounds of it being the right shape. A bountiful Xmas it was not.

It is not a mistake i have subsequently repeated - as tek alludes to, if it's there for the taking you may as well fill yer boots.

But did they want one? I did 2 laps of lidl before returning for the second duck crown, nobody else seemed interested. Don't get me wrong though, I bagged the duck and the first crown immediately and sod anyone else!

I've just boosted my clubcard points to buy myself and my eldest an annual pass to Trentham Gardens.

For the grand total of £25 in clubcard points I have £100 of Trentham Garden vouchers, passes are £55 + £23 leaving £27 to use on day trips for the hubby (who probably wouldn't get the use from a pass).
