Will it be a return to the standards that the old Crossbow had in the '70s?

    Let us hope not....

Complete and utter dump, simply doesn't do the Crossbow justice.

It was more the customer service approach that I had in mind - I lived in Porlock Avenue for four years and only ever went in there once.

It was like Fawlty Towers without the humour.

Looks good to me. Never really used the Lynton Arms but not being Dad's Taxi as much now, I have more time on my hands. I wonder if the police will poopoo the idea?

The Crossbow was their 'local' in the old days - they may be a bit less sympathetic now - their bizarre response to the 7 Market Square proposal makes you wonder what they might think up here.

We live in an age of risk assessments and being risk adverse so a lot of the time when an official is asked his or her opinion they err on the side of caution.

I like the idea of a cafe / bar. When the old Co-op closed I actually had a dream that this was happening.

Ironic really that they knock a perfectly good pub down to build a co-op, then convert the old co-op into a pub.

Maybe they should all have left well alone in the first place.....

As an aside they are fitting the two smaller units next to the new Coop. Are they Takeaways?

One of them has been fitted out with a number of 'cubicles' - maybe a sunbed shop?
