Well, I must say, 3/6d are well worth a listen for 60,70's listening and are well harmonied. In fact I'd say they matched most bands I've seen locally for technical ability and if you want a band for weddings and parties etc look the up on youtube or facebook.
The pub itself hasn't seen any major changes but to have an owner the other side of the bar and mixing with the custom was a good change and a big change from the last few times i've been in there. Let's hope Lisa can keep it up as she plans to have regular gigs and showcases for local acts. Pop in and have a word if you fancy playing there is all I can say,

Closing time then down to Vidal Lounge - Personally I prefer Friday Rock Night but I was otherwise engaged last night. Tonight was a bit more hardcore drum n bass to finish.

Went to the Bird last night and was pleased to see the place quite full.

We enjoyed the karoke with a good mixture of spells of karoke and DJ.

Ended up in the Vidal lounge with drinks at £1 each - bargain but the place was empty.

Went past this morning and seen the boards advertising live bands on a Saturday night, no other details but worth looking into

Erm, The Bird in Hand have taken control and running of Vidal Lounge with effect from tomorrow. As it stands, Vidal Lounge will only now open on Thursdays, and will be closed every other night. All enquires are being directed to the Bird. So now they own Chambers and Vidal but are keeping them both closed. Seems an odd move.

Very odd, why pay to keep a place closed?

This is a brilliant move

Soon they will own every bar outside of North Korea and Longton and all will be closed

Anyone wishing to party like its 1999 - or have a quiet pint will be able to do so online - download speeds may vary

Went in here last night, and am shocked to say it's gone downhill. I wasn't sure it could, but they've proven me wrong. The pool room is now closed, and has felt tip graffiti on the door proclaiming it the lock in room. There is one pool table in the lounge (in surprisingly good condition) and about 4 tables to sit at, didn't check the bar but it looked empty. The snug is still there, looks like it's never used as it's just how I remember it!

They advertise thatchers gold, but don't have any.

I like it. Stafford Tourism could promote this perhaps in collaboration with CAMRA. Maybe a packaged night out tour with a meal voucher thrown in, a curry between 6 & 7.
