Went to this last year and loved it. Something great about drinking in your school's sports hall :) I went on the last day so they'd run out of about a 3rd but what was left was good.

Hi there, I'm David the festival organiser for the festival. Thanks for the positive comments about last years festival and its good to hear that some of you are able to make it this year. We have been doing the final check of the beer list today and have ordered a few more beers. Will get the list updated tomorrow and uploaded to the website ASAP.

Anyone else planning on coming to the festival?

Ill be there Friday afternoon... Am going to try not to "sample" so many different beers this year as last year it ended up with me sleeping on the sofa and not waking up until late Saturday morning (I left the festival at 5pm on the Friday!) My mate fared even worse. His wife had to undress him and put him to bed. She then woke up to find him asleep around the toilet a little later...

I think (?) maybe we went the The Sun afterwards as well for a "night" cap but am still unable to confirm to this day... I blame the ginger beer and something that had the name "cherry" in it if i remember correctly?

I did a 6 hour stint on the tombola last year after a cherry bomb fuelled evening, it was an interesting experience I tell thee....

There was food available last year, burgers, rolls , chilli, crisps etc from what i can remember...

Yes there will be food avaliable different from last year though, a catering van from Eat- Elite of Stone will be on site providing hot and cold food. For the first time we will also be serving, crisps and peanuts etc at the bars.

We take over the hall tomorrow morning to set up, the festival opens on Thursday.

There was classic School breaktime snacky type stuff. I had my eye on one of those little pizza things and by the time I'd finished chatting to Gilbert Grape the St John's ambulance guy in front of me walked away with the last two. :grr:

Wouldn't mind, but surely people were at risk whilst he was filling his face with my tea...

I had to make do with a Veggie burger. The dinner lady said "ere have two- nobody's buying 'em"

The beers are all racked and the bars set up, Stafford Beer Festival opens tonight at 6!

Ladies only tasting session Friday at 19:30 hosted by Vicky and Claire of Slaters Stafford. If you think you don't like ales why not come along try some free samples and taste some fantastic ales.
