There was a dreadful fire last night on The Chase at Brocton with 10 fire appliances in operation.

Not sure how it started or any other details.

It made for interesting evening illumination!!

These fires almost always start one of three ways; some ahole deliberately starts one, for fun, some idiots decide to light a bbq, or some numpty leaves a glass bottle behind because it's too much trouble to take home.

The Great British Public at large in the countryside. Gotta love 'em.

So devastating for the chase and wildlife :(

Must have been so scary for those living nearby, with some evacuating or getting ready to.

Apparently Severn Trent were sending out warnings of low water pressure and discoloured water here in Wildwood last night (we never got a message ourselves) as the fire crews were using so much water trying to fight it. And bottled water given out to Brocton residents today.

Probably all those folks driving to the chase & parking in every available spot. Don't they realise the carparks are closed for a reason.

'Yobs' the story says. That's not the word I'd use for them though.

it is lawful to drive to exercise and the chase is still open. now the law has been clarified it makes you wonder why the carparks are still closed it's easier to social distance in the country as the open spaces are larger and the people fewer

It would be interesting to see how socially distant people are out of the cars, as I would imagine they are very much apart.

In the interest of 'clarity', what actually happened was that the people being 'tasked' with the 'prosecution' element of an *ill defined* legislation gave, wait for it, and you will be staggered to hear, *ill defined* guidelines as to how it might be 'delivered' - clarity was there none.

Police forces up and down the country are left to be either praised or denigrated as the court of public opinion sees fit.

    Strong and stable.

It has been remarkably dry out to the west, largely due to the east winds that have passed over you, so further fire events may be expected, I fear.

We are currently subject to this warning.

Despite the thunderstorms the other day, the danger persists.

This was a few miles north of my exile location yesterday.

No, they had two machines on the job, handy for getting the pictures,

Best to leave them to it.

In what way is this relevant to a thread about a fire on Cannock Chase?

Can we all just start posting pictures of fires anywhere for shitz 'n' gigglz for example?

    Asking for a friend?
