Well, for one, when one quite clearly 'Reply' s to another's post, it is also quite clear that you are directing your response directly toward them .

    That much is unambiguous.

Whilst forest fires in the 'Republic of Ireland' are 'on topic' for the idea of 'things being on fire' in general, they are not relevant to things that have 'been on fire on Cannock Chase'.

Outwith the whole 'Cannock Chase' thing, all sorts of things find themselves on fire, like, all the time.

Are we supposed to be fascinated by all of them?

Oh, sorry, I missed this demand. I've taken to skimming through the Dawn Chorus of late.

It's perhaps a bit closer than 'things being on fire' in general, but that is a matter for an individual to decide for themselves. The topography is very similar and it has been subject to winds that have passed directly over both areas for much of the last few weeks. The danger has most certainly not passed. There is also the aspect that fires under the current conditions of low public access may well be a good bit larger before they are discovered. Another thought that it might bring to mind is to wonder why an area with such a preponderance of military helicopter assets available so rarely sees them act 'in aid of the civil authority'.

There is no requirement for anybody to be fascinated by anything at all on the Forum. A lot of it is not fascinating to me, but I can cope.

Should you find an item to be irrelevant to you, it is a simple enough matter to ignore it, people do this all the time. The Forum even has an automated system to help you, should this be necessary. People ignore posts for all sorts of reasons, not just perceived irrelevance, but they can be overly verbose, deliberately obtuse, just plain offensive or one of many other reasons.

I realise that I could have used the time taken in making the above posts to inform the Forum that I had found a boiled sweet in a thread intended to help those who might require a small amount of PPE form a local source, but I didn't think that would have been relevant or fascinating, so I didn't.

We went for a walk today on Cannock Chase, by the sundial where the fire was on April 22nd.
So just over a month later the ferns are emerging through the charred ground.
    Isn’t nature wonderful?

Chase Road closed over the weekend as are the Coppice Hill, Chase Road Corner and Chase Vista car parks. Someone posting on another forum has suggested that other roads are being closed at night.

Bracken's damn hard to get rid of. Ask the rangers, they've been trying to knock it back for decades.

Why close them at night hasn't the fires so far started during daylight hours?
