The boot sale was graced by a large display of big, round butts today - which I put down to the weather. There were a good few water butts available as well, though, and at only eight quid each, complete with tap. I got a load of R80 100 watt reflector bulbs for around 10p each and a couple of block lifters for 50p each.

Apologies for the lateness of this report as I was unable to return to base before having to proceed to my next assignment at the Toy Fair at the Showground. Not being the sort of flash bugger to have an iPhone thing, I was unable to file until now, having just returned from dropping some items off at the Classic Car Show at the Castle, which seemed like quite a good do to me. Hectic times.

For those still interested at this late stage, I managed to obtain, at the Toy Fair, another Ronuk tanker for my Kenneth Horne Memorial Train.

Another large event today. I got a lifetime's supply of microscope slides and a load of Peco Flexitrack at a very reasonable price.

What's the point? I got a load of them as well.

Forgot to mention that today's special promotion was crash helmets, of all types, including equine and speleological.

Back to the subject of helmets - someone filled my cycle helmet with leaves this morning. I know who it was. Let's just say that his number will be coming up shortly!

Today seemed to be predominately pictures and foot spas when I had a look. I did find 2 mummy style sleeping bags for £3 each, so got those.

I keep meaning to go down, but I never seem to be up early enough. It'll probably be easier now that half of BBC Breakfast has been cut to make way for the repeat of Match of the Day, though.

Luckily I live close by, and my GF lives right next to the common, so its easy for us. Always nice to have a wander around, although I'm not buying things at the moment as I want to move house before filling it with somebody elses tat :D

Just for information - The Staffordshire Bull is hosting a car boot on Saturday 29th August on behalf of the residents association Action Parkside. Even if you dont live on Parkside it will only cost £5 per car, so it is cheaper.

Payment in advance only, but give Ed a call at the pub on 01785 249839 :pint:

(ps I dont work or are associated with the pub - just a local) :D

Public opinion is that these events are used by money launderers and terrorists so they should be stopped, maybe......

Boot sale was huge again - but very poor pickings. I got an LED clip-on spotlight - exactly what my Dad wants. Also a leather folder/briefcase with integral four-ring binder - four rings are so much better than two, don't you think? I also got Florence's Christmas present. Less than two quid for the lot!

The special promotion this week was large spanners.

Get rid of the plastic toys and the sale would be half the size, but I bought a stainless steel bread bin for a pound, ideal for boiling fermented sugar water in.

I've left early as I am due to bleed for the nation. A lot of junk this week, with a good selection of garden shears, in particular. I returned with a potter's wheel and a lifetime's supply of combs.

Still tomorrow....
