I wonder if Boris and his Cabinet of Failure have to put effort into their monumental incompetence, or if it just flows naturally through their veins.

On a more important note, are takeaways still allowed to operate?

Takeaways and deliveries still allowed , but not for alcohol.

And support bubbles allowed this time.
( Although with son still working, not worth the risk of meeting up ..)

Roll on summer ! Not sure which one but hopefully will get back to normal by at least one summer in my lifetime....

I think that's a wise decision @staffordjas, that's often the problem with support bubbles, that someone at risk of contracting it bubbles with a vulnerable person. My dad has withdrawn from any bubbles til he gets his vaccine (hoping he'll hear this week).

I hope the supermarkets go back to the way of working they did in the first lockdown. It was horrible shopping yesterday, no one cared.

Totally agree.
I know someone who hasn’t been out to a shop since March, absolutely terrified, and yet, (pre lockdown) sits in a car with a family member she doesn’t live with, met up with other family members who mostly go out to work who meet and mix with other people.
She said “but you feel safe with your own family don’t you”

That’s been part of the problem I think, that people do feel safe with their family when they should have been more cautious.

Don’t get me started on the supermarkets.
I beginning to believe that I’m one of a rare breed that still sanitises the trolley handle and puts anti bacterial gel on my hands.
The number of people that stroll in without doing it is unbelievable.

Also while I’m on a rant, it’s all very well having the rules but how about punishing those that blatantly flout it?
I’m sick of reading about singers having birthday parties in restaurants, footballers having New Years Eve parties, celebrities doing whatever they like because they think the rules don’t apply to them.
Not just celebrities either, anyone who thinks they can break the rules.
If they started making them do community service in a COVID ward and making them wear a tag we might start seeing a reduction in this selfish irresponsible attitude.

I posted a message on our work group asking if there will be any changes now we are on National lockdown.

24 views and not one reply.

Don't hold out hope.

I'm sorry.
Nothing will get better whilst large companies refuse to do anything about the rules.

You can come on if you don't wear a mask, but our employees must wear a mask for 8 hrs with only a 1/2 hr break.

You can bring your whole family shopping.

You can touch staff, remove your mask to speak to them, look horrified when they step away....

2 meters only applys to customers, not to staff. Customers can be right next to you, touching you, speaking to you, but you are safe because you are staff, and staff are invincible.

You don't need to queue to allow a minimum amount of people into the store, because its safe for everyone to be NEXT to each other, from 90 maximum customers to over 400 at any one time.

Profits over people.

The few times I've had to go to supermarkets and get a trolley, I've used clean tissues to grab it and take to sanitising station, used gallons of spray on the trolley and hands, and sanitise the
shopping in the garage back at home. As well as doing car handles, car keys, steering wheel etc. Yet see others not bothering at all .

Was most annoyed with the old bloke on the Co-op till the other week. He's a bit deaf , and told me to take my mask off as he couldn't hear what people were saying with them on. :lorks:.

So many people flouting the rules and getting away with it , so annoying that they are getting away with it as they know damn well they probably won't get fined.

I just remember last time Milford common was crazy, it was more like a holiday camp

Best way is probably via brocton

If you're able to go to the Chase during the day on weekdays and use the wider paths then generally people respect social distances and more importantly there's less of them.

Best access is probably from Chase Road side assuming the car parks are open.

What is the point of stopping pubs doing takeaway alcohol?

I read that this was to stop people buying alcohol and then having house party's but surely anyone with such inclinations would just buy their alcohol from supermarkets wouldn't they?

Why punish a struggling industry any further and wouldn't the duty paid on such sales help the economy?

Why limit people to just one session of exercise per day?

It's arbitrary crap like this, designed just to be spiteful and 'because we can' that makes a mockery of the whole thing.

It's to show in very obvious ways that they are doing 'something', as it helps mask the bits they choose not to.
