I just got a letter from a consultant instructing me to attend Barnstaple Hospital for a CT Scan after he examined my blood tests. For three months I've been losing weight rapidly (9stone 2lbs on the scales this morning and feeling fatigued.) Problem is it's on Saturday afternoon and it's 30 miles away, so I'm worried about lockdown enthusiastic cops PNC checking my car as I pass by and then pulling me over to see why I'm that far from home. Coppers tend to hover around the Barnstaple by-pass as they have lots of laybys to lurk in. Perhaps it'll get cancelled.

(I wonder if Steve McQueen would have lent me that Mustang from Bullitt !!) :P
Hope, if it's not cancelled, all goes well.

Unfortunately i don't think covid cases will slow down anytime soon. It seems it's not really a lockdown, as many of us are still expected to go to work and mix with our colleagues.
The tv news makes it look like everywhere is deserted, but that's not really true. i've seen nearly as much traffic on my way home from work today as i usually do, so i'm guessing many more of us are still going to work, despite being told to stay at home.

Take the letter with you.

The practice where I am is to press such evidence as test appointments, etc., against the window at road blocks, so they can be examined with the minimum of interaction.

A technique that was also used for winning 'radio bingo' cards, before even outdoor gatherings were banned.

And - Good Luck!

You can leave your house to buy food, collect essential supplies, attend medical appointments or get a coronavirus test, meet people as part of a support bubble, exercise once a day, provide care or to escape harm.

All the very best.

Hope all goes well .

As said above , take your appointment letter with you and that's a valid excuse if pulled over. You can go out to ' to seek medical care or attend an appointment '

How many weeks away are we from buildings being torched and policemen locking themselves away inside their stations?

Way busier on my way to work at 6.30am this morning, a normal day at work, who knows what the rest of the week will bring...

What is the point of stopping pubs doing takeaway alcohol?

There is a perceived problem of people buying takeaway drinks then standing around outside the pub in groups drinking the beer rather than taking it home. Almost certainly exaggerated. There is a campaign to email MPs about it and other lobbying is taking place. Link to the email is https://camra.e-activist.com/page/73809/action/1 I think it works for everyone not just CAMRA members, give it a try please.

In one of lockdowns or tier restrictions (can't remember which) when pubs were allowed to serve alcohol takeaway only, there were scenes on the TV news with hundreds drinking outside a pub in London. Bought from the pubs take-away set up, then sitting on the pubs benches and standing in the street outside , drinking as though it was a beer garden :ohno:

Thanks. I'd already signed the campaign from the CAMRA webpage but I'm not expecting very much because Theo won't do anything anyway.

The simple answer is to bar pubs selling open alcohol containers and if they do enforcing the Coronavirus rules and/or the PSPO if it is applicable to the area.

Hope all goes well. I've had similar symptoms recently, dropped a stone in six months. Had an ultrasound yesterday which showed nothing untoward. . Back to my GP today.

What the others have said.
Take the letter with you and show it if you are pulled over.
I hope that you are ok, it must be very worrying to lose weight that quickly (without trying).
It’s best to get it checked out, so hope that it doesn’t get cancelled.
