A friend went to an RTÉ Symphony Orchestra concert a few days after "That Match". The various sections of the orchestra were introduced and dutifully applauded - but, the French Horn section was booed.

Well the goalfest gathers apace...

Three games, four goals - is this the 'clueless wasters' Tournament?

England might just be in with a shout.

Aaaarghhh!!
I shouldn't worry over much.

Though i'd be more than happy to proved wrong, it is looking like this will be won by the least awful team left in the offing.

England are at least more awful than three or four, or even more, other awful teams.

Finally it actually does!

As many or more goals scored in the three games today than in the six games of three of the Groups.

France v...

O England, make it so! Once more unto the breach!

I fear we are a bit on the 'Lions led by Donkeys' side, though the 'Donkeys' in this instance is singular, but at least there are some Lions.

On the evidence of the past two days i can't say i fancy our chances even if we do get to the QFs, but this lot are, i think, able of upping their game.

Germany, Italy or Spain would, i'm more than certain, be a bridge too far. Which would be most perfectly ironic were it Germany.

There is the small matter of overcoming Iceland first, of course - which to extend the 'Market Garden' analogy i can easily see us entirely and properly fecking up in a likewise 'old men and boys' manner...
