Sitting in a pub waiting for the England game and one of the yokels demanded the sound was turned down cos they wanted to talk. I suggested they visit a nearby Wetherspoon's if they wanted silent movies.

They remained and sound was resumed after the English national anthem.

During the match the same person asked who was actually watching the match and then complained that the volume was on an odd number.

I haven’t really been paying much attention, not particularly following it but it’s always nice to hear the national team have won a game.

Today was the first match I’ve paid any attention to, was in Stafford during most of first half, walked into curry’s to purchase a fan just in time to witness the first goal, the streets were deserted, listening on car radio, quick co-op dash at half time back to car as three lions was playing then walked through the door at home just in time to see the second goal.

Fab game, edge of the seat stuff, I might even venture out to the pub on Wednesday.

As United fans will know only too painfully well, Pogba is due a bad game.

Let it be the next but one.

Although having watched the 'friendly' that was Belgium 'B' v. England 'B', the 'A' teams locking horns, it would be quite fitting for this to be a final in what has been quite a mental World Cup.

We really could beat Croatia - again, i'm not anywhere near sure we will, but we really could - and that would mean we have reached the Final of the World Cup.

It is astonishing to me that this is what stares us in the FACE.
