Flash Mob!

Ok, who here has heard of a 'flash mob'? If you haven't, it's basically an organised meet up of a bunch of people in a certain place, then when a specific time arrives, a group act takes place for say 5 mins, then everyone stops and walks away.

So for example.. 100 people get down to Back To The Future square, stand around trying to look natural, buying an ice cream or something, then at 14:17, everyone whips out a hidden pirate sword and starts swashbuckling with each other until 14:22 when the swords are hidden again and everyone walks off in different directions as if nothing has happened. :D

Any other ideas are welcome (ninjas, water fight, pillow fight, all shouting 'Argh! and running away etc), and if anyone is interested in having a Stafford Forum Flash Mob, I'd love to see it happen :)

I've seen it done in Manchester , it was spooky weird.

They all wore black robes and masks.

these are both brilliant ideas.. i'm sitting here giggling like a school girl at gota quid's suggestion..

unfortunately, i thinks its unlikely ill be able to partake due to locations, so if someone could film it for me and stick it on here- that would be lovely.

Glad to see there's an interest in this :) So the ideas so far consist of -

Pirate Sword Fight (although be pretty obvious something was going on before it started if we were all dressed as pirates..)

Pillow Fight (could be hard to hide the pillows, but i've seen it done before)

Acting out a bible scene in front of the 'Bible Guy'

Kung Fu / Ninja Fighting

We could all start singing The Stafford Song, with Sofa starting then more people joining in on each line of the song, until everyone s singing it (probably look like some kind of bizarre live musical.. people swinging round lamposts etc :) )

Could all drop to the floor at the same time or just start randomly running round screaming "Badgers!! the badgers are coming!!" :D

Oh, and pie.. something to do with pie/s...

Any more ideas are very welcome :)

I'd love to be the High Priest of The First United Church of The Ford and hold a service in BTTF Square or Sainsburys, Tesco or ASDA or something... Can we work with cut out masks?

Can we steer the ideas away from anything violent as members of the public and the boys and girls in blue can get a bit sensitive about that sort of thing these days.

I love the idea of a flash crowd! Hadn’t heard much about them so checked out the wikopedia link some are absolutely genius – I think the mass pillow fight was my favourite.

Thanks for keeping me entertained on a slow afternoon at work trying to think of some other suggestions. I think it would need to be something that other people could join in with such as a group hug, a spontaneous round of applause or a giant ring of people doing the hokey cokey.

Ideas that would need a lot more planning include a giant picnic, creating a human chess board, we would need 64 black and white squares and people could be the pieces or my favourite and piggybacking on gota quid’s fab idea – surrounding the bible preacher guy and producing devil horns while chanting satan, satan satan – maybe not the best time to promote the forum though!!

Badgers, ...Badgers are good, and I even know where I could get a suit! So the Badger could even appear!

theres always the idea of an alien hoax where everyone just stares at the sky and discusses loudly that they just saw a flying saucer

no danger of that flower - it's from csi: miami waaaaay back in series 3! episode 4 - "murder in a flash".. a load of students flash mob a golf course, murder ensues, horatio takes his glasses off, then puts them back on again.. usual run of events :teef:
