D'oh! Went to give a skill point to FooFighter for the stirling work, and ended up giving one to Dirty Bobbles. Ah well, Jimbob giveth and Jimbob taketh away. It'll all even out in the end.
You can give still give FooFighter a skill point...just not more than one point to each user per day (as far as i'm aware) Get pointing!

I did give FooFighter a point. Just gave Bobby one (oo-er) in error first.

When I was talking about things evening out, I meant that there will no doubt be ample opportunity for me to cuffy Bobby up in due course.

I have now given you a cuffy point for stating the obvious. :nyd:

I have noticed that lots of members - that must be old/established users of the forum - hide the fact that they are using it, now that hiding it is an option.

There's only ever about ten people who say anything here anyway, your name comes up when you do so - it's like you're two foot wide hiding behind a ten inch tree.

What's that all about?

I’m tentatively and nervously replying to this this but I do think that the reason that new people don’t post is because it’s actually quite scary to voice an opinion.

I took a break for 2 years but now that I’m back there is no way that I will post anything controversial or dare to have an opinion that doesn’t sit with the majority.

It does seem that on this forum you have to think a certain way, vote a certain way otherwise you are not welcome.

I don’t think it’s going to happen but it would be a better forum if all opinions were welcomed and discussed openly without the need for vitriol.

No need to call someone “Scum” because they have a different political opinion to you.

It actually displays intelligence to be able to listen to someone else’s point of view, so if you want more people to take part in discussions, then give them a chance before going at them with boxing gloves.

Carole,
You've made some very valid points there.
I could take a two year break from most of the few discussion forums I'm on and don't think I would miss them.

Carole, I don't speak for everyone, but your input was missed, without question and I am glad you have returned. I agree to a certain extent that there is a wider group of us that do tend to post in step, not through any planning, more that our views on the controversial topics, seem, to be similar. Now I appreciate that language can get fairly incendiary on here, so I say, welcome back, and you, you will never be scum.
