Im not sure where an MP lives is that vital if that MP is actively supporting his consituents rather than getting onto committees to enhance the chances of his own personal ambitions. To do both would take someone brilliant at communications and an outstanding personality.

Have we got that with our MP?

10.05 on the 14th November I was driving through Stafford. I spotted Jeremy about to cross the road. I assume he had parked his car in Tory HQ and was walking over to the remembrance service.

Take a look at most career MPs, they don't live where they represent. You don't **** on your own doorstep....

If I had voted Liberal I would ask Clegg for my vote back. The next election in my opinion is a simple one its either red or blue. The issues for LD's is that now they have some power the reality of what they have often offered is difficult to uphold. Its easy being in opposition. The classic example is student tuition fees. Never has a party back tracked so much.

Were the nations finances crippled by the last Government or was it the Bankers drive for profit? Yes labour were too friendly with the bankers but the present government is having the same issues. Try to regulate them whare it hurts they threaten to move abroad.

I could argue that the present social welfare problems are a direct result of Thatchers policies of the 80's. We are in the 3rd generation of unskilled and jobless families.

Attempting to keep people in work I beleieve is more acceptable. Governments that spend on health and education should be applauded.

We are now in a situation where the present government wants to cut the size of government to reduce the debt. Then what next, tax cuts for the well off.

Call me cynical!!!

I think the Sun newspaper has done that as well but it was not in the 50's.

It thought it was Chalkie White, who toured Britain's resorts distributing fivers. The character took his name from Andy Capp's best mate in the Mirror's popular comic strip.
We had to say "you're Chalkie White of the daily mirror and I claim my £5”. my dad had me looking for him one year we were at Blackpool, must have been about 1950 something

Maybe councillor Heenan* could pass on a message to get his arse in gear, you can't represent people you don't see.

* or whatever he was called, has been a while.
