There's also one planned for the Doxey development.Perhaps I am also pi**ing iin the wind? but I believe there are plans for a playpark for the North End of town as part of the new housing development off Beaconside.
If it is anything like the development at Wildwood it will be a great asset.
There already is one in Doxey. There's also one planned for the Doxey development.
Spoilt for choice? Are you takng the p*ss? Look at the state of the skateboard section of the town park. To my knowledge this is the only place the kids can go to skateboard legitimately and it's so busy it's like sardines, all the time, not just on sunny days.
And as @littleme says, there is absolutely nothing for those kids unfortunate enough to live in the deprived north of town. They get the sh*t end of town shopsAND no parks!!!!
Is that on the new development? Stated they would provide a 'destination park' like what's on Wildwood? There already is one in Doxey.
Isn`t your term: `are you taking the piss. Look at the skateboard section of the town park` somewhat over the top???!!!
If you mean it is well used, busy, hectic and kids have somewhere to go.....then yes, the park is in a right state lol
Yes. There are various facilities for older youths when the 'locals' don't trash it.Is that on the new development? Stated they would provide a 'destination park' like what's on Wildwood?
It's jam packed with kids at all hours of the day and night, very dangerously so. As is the kids play park bit. they are both simply not fit for purpose due to OVER-subscription. They are victiims of their success so clearly we need more, quite a few more.
There you go, using words completely out of context like - it is not fit for purpose.
Of course it bloody well is, hence where it is over subscribed.
I have been around that kids play area in the height of a hot summers day with family.
Regardless of how busy it is all I see is kids having fun and parents relaxed and enjoying seeing their kids play.
Alot of areas towns would kill for a excellent quality safe play area that was busy.
I got lost whilst out for a jog a couple of weeks back. I ended up at Henry Street and saw there was a fairly reasonable play park there, weather withstanding, will be pushing my grandson on a swing there this evening.
Stoke nor Leek have nothing like Victoria Park for a start.
Stoke has a number of parks that are very old and in parts quite dilapidated. Those that have play areas ( of the fenced off kind) such as hanley park, northwood and hanley forest park are burdened with homeless and criminal activity such a drugs dealings etc.
I'm currently in the Medway Towns, population 250,000, and it has nothing like the park provision stafford has. It has other highlights (good leisure centre facilities being one example) but on the kids play park angle it fails miserably.
