Not really, it's less dependable - I suspect they'll complement each other, you have a curtains in mind, you'd go have a poke round The Range, and if you don't find what you want and your parked in the area go round Dunelm and vice versa.

I note that Sainsburys have had a £1 billion bid for Home Retail Group rejected (announced today)....

I thought that Sainsburys were only interested in the Argos side of Home Retail group (as there are already Argos concessions within some Sainsbury stores).

We went in Homebase yesterday, the discounts are still not low enough to tempt us though...

wish it was going to be an Olympic swimming pool, I'd possibly have a job if it was lol so it's going to be the range? I am very excited for this!! wish they would recruit externally too, I am desperate for a job just being made redundant

I still only half believe that The Range is going to open there, they're still not advertising externally (I've also heard that the homebase staff have been offered jobs at Argos not The Range), but everyone else is convinced....

I saw in the news yesterday that Homebase is going to an Australian company called Wesfarmers.

We needed to buy some general decorating bits to decide to go to Homebase. Majority of items are up to 25/30%, but still felt it wasn't quite enough.

Store closes 13th February.

We went last week looking for a bargain on white Dulux paint, its still cheaper to buy in *Asda, even if you take honebases 25 - 30% off! Ridiculous.

Dulux white paint - 5ltrs, £10 in Asda :)
