It does a bit, yes. Isn't a vote for something almost the definition of support for it?
Best of my knowledge they were proposing to scrap National Insurance which in effect is an 11% income tax so for many there would be no difference although it might affect over 65's who don't pay NI.
Saying all that Nigel Farage did say on Question Time that UKIP's tax policy was under review but his main thrust was that the tax and benefit regime in this country is far too complicated and needs simplifying
That headline -What is this 'jury is still out' rubbish?
Its all been in the public domain since 2004

No I think the plan was to set the rate at 30% with no National Insurance but as I said the policy is under review. So everyone is on 20% tax apart from those earning NMW? Any idea how the taxation shortfall is dealt with?
It's not the rich who give to charities though - I'd be surprised if there wasn't a study of some kind that shows that it's overwhelmingly the less well off who tend to give to charities and good causes.I was reading an article in yesterdays Sunday Times about how John Caudwell decided to pay capital gains on the sale of his share in Phones4Us rather than moving it offshore, this meant he paid £250 million tax on the £1.5 billion he received. Now many people would say as he's rich he can afford it, but he didn't had to do that and I wonder how many of us would have done the same.
Also in the article to went on about the amount he spends on charity and this is another area that wealthy could more. In America it is pretty much expected of people who do well to give to charities, hospitals schools etc.
Tell that to Bill Gates. It's not the rich who give to charities though ...
