Indian food in Stafford

Out with a group of friends tomorrow for curry but struggling to decide where. We normally use Spice Island but feel that's been a let down the last couple of times (long long waits, bad food etc). Went to Malabar a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed my meal, although not as flavoursome as I'd hoped, but the other half didn't like hers. Basically, we were spoilt by an amazing place in Manchester http://www.akbars.co.uk/menu.php?id=19 and nothing we've used here can compete- where should we go?

Have you tried Karma? If not I'd say give it a shot, if you have then I dunno! Had an alright takeaway from abduls on Tuesday, but I was a little bit drunk so not the best judge....

We haven't tried Karma, but based on the other thread on here I am tempted. Depends if I can convince the Spice Island veterans to try something new. Cheers

Although we haven't actually tried dine in anywhere else, we've have had takeway from some of the other places, and we always go back to Spice Island whether for eat in or take away. The food is just delicious and full of flavour. We've had food from some places that tasted like Homepride in a tin, no matter what variety of curry it was.

Well, I've just had a particularly excellent meal at Stafford Balti, as always - all in aid of a Franco-American cultural exchange this time.

So folks, since there hasn't been much action on here for a while, and the much loved Karma II is now gone... where is the best "bring your own booze" curry house in Stafford? Need one for tomorrow night.

For me it has to be ashianas every time, the foods the best, the prices are good and the staff are all really nice and the restaurant is nice and big. I can only really compare to nishads which can be a bit cramped inside and the 2 out of 5 for food hygiene is concerning.

Well I can recommend you dont try Abduls, I used to live next door, and could see directly into their kitchen, lets just say they certainly wouldnt get 5 stars.....

I had a take away from Abdul's the other day and it was excellent as usual. No excessive grease like most curry take aways. Way better than most crap you get in Stafford. If the Abdul staff are forum members please keep up the good work.
