I'm shattered.....I've had some horrible alien flu type illness for a month which has meant I've either had to try to sleep propped up on a million pillows to stop me coughing, I just manage to get to sleep, get about 2hrs then I'm woken by the coughing & incredible neck & shoulder pain..... then I drop back off & am woken by hallucinations ! Agghhhhhh !

I'm sooooo jealous of @Glam 's lovely sleep!

Some people swear by manuka honey to help support the immune system

I've eaten/drank the best part of a whole jar of honey in the last 2 weeks (probably not a good idea when you're diabetic) , not Manuka though - I couldn't afford the second mortgage!

This is what happened to me last month, but i had to sit up to sleep because of an ear issue. It's miserable and really gets you down. I just got my sleep pattern sorted last week after 6 weeks of struggle and last night everything went to sh*t again owing to some medication I'm on. What I can say is once you are better you will never take lying down to sleep for granted again!!!

Hope things improve and you soon get the chance to appreciate lyng down :)

No sleep again tonight - the anxiety issues are in full flow :(

I've almost read half the book I'm working through already, and I suspect the rest will be done before morning...

I sympathise with all of you unable to get hardly any kip. After going to bed early because I was so tired from lack of sleep these last few weeks, as soon as I got in bed I was yet again wide awake and with having some kind of lurgy am most uncomfortable lying flat these last few days.(And convinced myself a ghost was trying to strangle me all last night whilst struggling to breath. Got all the lights on down here at the moment, just incase like ...) Fed up of watching the time ticking slowly by on the illuminated time thingy shining on the ceiling, whilst listening to hubby snoring merrily away. So got back up intending to lie propped up on the settee, but.....despite feeling sick from feeling so tired, have now decided might as well sit up and do some paperwork.....

Err, thanks, but I'm afraid in my case that's not going to work - relationships (and everything that goes with them) and the lack thereof are the root cause of the anxiety, so that's actually what's keeping me awake!

On the upside, I managed to sleep pretty well last night, so I'm vaguely more awake today :)

It must be very difficult for you, there is no simple remedy for anxiety, I grew up with my mother in and out of st George's so I know what effects it can have on families. I sometimes have to fight through a bad day and try not to go the same way as her as I do see a lot of traits of myself in her. However when it comes to matters of the heart I have a little saying to myself. The only way to get over someone is to get under someone ! Not necessarily literally but sometimes you have to force yourself to swim against the tide to set yourself free.

Thanks - its very tough, it is a very difficult thing to overcome, especially on your own. Anxeity has stopped me doing so many things, I go through periods when it's controlled and periods when it very much isn't.

After 7 years of total rejection, I don't really know where to go from here...

Well, off to bed in the hope of sleep - oddly hot in here, might have to knock the window open a bit!!

After having coped with rejection for years you should be proud of yourself that you have kept going and that you have had times when you can do stuff.
Life can be very hard for people suffering from anxiety and stress and depression, although there are counseling services out there to help, perhaps you haven't found the one that may help you. Keep trying and even thou sometimes you may feel like your exhausted and overtired and then cant sleep because of insomnia. You will find a way through - just keep persevering and believing in yourself

Love, caring advice. That's what I like about the forum, strangers offering kindness and support when needed (mixed with the odd bit of good banter and general micky taking)

Tonight's insomnia is brought to you in association with jetlag...

Currently laying in bed listening to the hustle and bustle of early evening New York, with a body clock which thinks its 2am, and would very much like New York to hustle and bustle a bit more quietly...

I have been known to do just that in the early hours! Hope u got some sleep after but it probably made u even more alert. It's really stressful watching the clock all night

Grabbed a couple of hours before the little people stirred, fingers crossed for a bit of shut eye tonight.

Kept awake on the last night in New York by some wonderful builders, who decided that 4am would be a great time to dig a hole in the road outside...

On the upside, back home for a few days now and I've finally got over the jetlag!
