I went last night for the 1st time.

The service was top notch, the wine was good, I actually got a rare steak, which is an achievement in Stafford, but we had 4 different dishes and they all tasted the same ie tinned tomatoes and dried herbs. It wasn't cheap either.
Welcome to The Forum, whippet :)

Thanks for the review!

How do I edit this?
We finally tried this the other night and I was generally fairly impressed. Bill came to £20/head including 2 courses, a beer each and a bottle of wine between 4, so yes not super cheap, but pretty much the same price as pizza express. My pasta was pretty good - a salmon taglitelle where I got as much salmon as taglitelle. The pizza looked seriously good though and got rave reviews from across the table.

I went a couple a weeks ago and had the Chicken Pasta in a cream sauce. It was more like a bowl of cream with a bit of pasta and chicken!!! I would go again as the pizza looked good, wish I had of chosen that.

I went last night, and was very impressed, my taglitelle was lovely and the bloke's chicken cacciatore was apparently very good too. The presentation on that especaially was very good.

Went to Vivere yesterday, was really impressed with the service and ambience of the restaurant. However the food wasn't great. My friend had the steak which was cooked how she asked for it and nicely presented. It came with a tomato sauce on the top which was a bit bland. When I saw that they had real wood fired oven I was sure I had to go for Pizza. The dough was nice and thin and crispy however I was very dissapointed when I found bright pink tasteless Salami under my tons of strange smelling Mozerella. You would never find luminos pink Salami in Italy! We shared a mixed salad which was nice but could have done with a bit more dressing. A few little tweaks to the food and this could be a fabulos restaurant!

Welcome, Eryfly. I'm very glad that we seem to have another member capable of using capital letters and punctuation. Keep it up. Better luck with the nosh next time.

Could I suggest, Admin, that a further column be introduced show the ratio of points to posts? This might serve as an indicator of perceived quality, and help to avoid the possibility of innocents being led astray.

went for meal there on 2nd april there was 7 of us cost us £149 bearing in mind only 3 had starter main and pudding and coffee. we did have couple lager each . ok but prefer dolce la vito in stone or some thing like that on left as you go in . would not go there again best thing about it was the waiters

Went last night as a group of five not one us happy with the food, and the service was shocking.

The starters were great but they had clearly lost our mains order and rather than inform us, they rushed the preparation and all five were bland, two of us didn't even have fresh pasta! The service went (literally) then, all the waiters avoided our table and when the waitress came to collect our not-so-empty plates she knew we'd been let down, even asking "didn't anyone come during the meal to ask if everything is ok?" Well, NO cos everyone was hiding in the kitchen, including the manager. We even had to go and ask for the bill, which was minus a salad and bread, not an acceptable discount considering we'd spent £100 between us.
