i know that i was seeing a sikh girl once, and her mum wasn't impressed, so took her to a "trusted family medium" who told her that she was going to meet a lovely sikh man who would love her dearly and shower her with wealth but right now she was on a terrible path to destruction.. funnily enough, i wasn't seeing her for much longer lol..

I find the notion ludicrous TBH, and the thought of dying but still functioning is such a fruitless idea of existence. However, millions believe that a beard in the sky created everything within a week, so who am I to argue.
On the flip side, if anyone knows of a medium who claims to be real, I'd happily visit them if they can channel a specific person for me. They always say that impossible though, how convenient.

Very doubtful, was a chatty bugger all his life and we had a lot on when he died. Advances in medicine prove, in my eyes, that what we see as the immortal soul is merely a chemical reaction. Houdini spent a large portion of his life trying to contact the spirit world, and promised that after his death he would do his utmost to make contact. Not seen him about lately.Lunar Scorpion said:

Makes it very easy to get out of proving anything though, doesn't it? Probably explains why no proof whatsoever has been recorded. Ever.
My Aunt is a Medium and lives in Stafford. There was spiritualist evening held at The Muse (where stephanies used to be) on Feb 20th. I went (my first time and experience of mediums) and had a good night but didn't convince me. My problem is I struggle to believe it but I know my Aunt wouldn't lie about what she can channel. If any one wants her details let me have your e-mail address and I will gladly send them to you. I don't think they guarantee who they contact but they can do a one on one session for you. Her husband (my Unlce) is also a practicing Reiki healer. Maybe anyone might be interested in that too?

Just because she believes, doesn't make it true. In her mind it may well be that she is talking to dead people, which is why she can happily tell you these things. To her it isn't lies.
However, nobody has ever been able to prove anything to do with this sort of thing, ever. This makes me think its all cold reading and making stuff up, whether they realise they are doing it or not.
If they can't contact the people you want to talk to, what is the point? TBH the only dead people I knew well enough to be able to tell the medium wasn't lying, are those I'd specifically want to contact. Sure I have dead grandparents etc. but if they've been gone 25 years how am I supposed to know them?

Actually a funny story for ya - both me and my Husband are non believers so we have devised a code/secret message. If any of us is to come back with a message from beyond we have to quote the secret code/message first. I don't hold out much hope and we're both still young so will have to wait ages to find out! Got a similar one myself, last time I saw my mate we were alone and he told me something. Nobody else knows it, so if someone can tell me it I'll believe.

My Nan had a similar thing. She had a brain heamorrage and spoke afterwards of walking down a corridor with a door at the end. She decided that if she got to the door she would open it and walk on through (presumably to the other side?), however, the door was locked so she just came back. Maybe just a dream?Florence said:

I had an out of body experience once, well I say once it lasted about a month. The anti depressants I was on made me feel so detached I literally watched myself go about my day. I always seemed to be sat above door frames, or in the corner of rooms on the ceiling. It was like playing resident evil.
