Nothing to see

It's a mirage
I would watch that.

They might have to alter the doors and think about a different colour scheme for the building.

A few posts under my belt
just heard morrisons is going to be a huge british heart foundation charity shop with a heroin addiction drop in centre attached to it. New benches to be installed outside which will be fitted with sharps boxes. A state of the art discount card shop will open shortly after. By xmas there will be new "GOLD 4 CASH" store followed by a 2nd hand mobile phone shop. A new Jetty stretching out onto the marsh area is also being built which will incorporate a supermarket trolley launch platform. The new complex will not be covered by cctv as local drug addicts won their human rights case where they claimed they had the right to "Cook Up and have a dig" without the worry of being caught on camera.

More info at 16/25035/LDC too. Seems the application to split it into 3 has already been accepted. On the docs it seems that the building to the side is going to be kept as one unit... wasn't this originally going to be split into 2 and used by 2 retailers (B&M and a pet store)? So maybe one of the retailers that were going to go in there will be put into one of the units in the big building?

ooh - that's much more marketable and likely to be finned (in fact apart from one at Queens I can't think of any other big box empty retail units around)

16/25035/LDC - is a lawful development certificate. It is requesting permission to sub-divide the Morrison's store into 3 units. It's still being determined.

The units at the front of the site will be occupied by B&M, a discount food retailer and A N Other. I heard Halfords were relocating so may be it's them(?).

"Proposed Retail Use

Triple Jersey Limited has recently acquired the wider Kingsmead site from LXB RP (Stafford 2) Limited.
The new aspirations for the retail development include for the largest unit on the site to be sub-divided
to form three separate A1 retail units. For the purposes of this application these units are referred to as Units 3, 4 and 5.

The two smaller standalone units which complete the retail development on the site, and which do
not form the subject of this application, are referred to as Units 1 and 2.

The supermarket operator originally identified to occupy the building has removed their interest. As a
consequence there is a need to attract alternative retailers to the development.

Work is ongoing to secure retailers to occupy the proposed units to be created within the sub-divided
building. B&M have now been secured as tenants for Unit 3. It is intended that Unit 5 will be occupied
by a discount food retailer. A further retailer operating within the A1 use class will operate from Unit 4."

So this to me looks like B&M is now going to be taking part of the sub-divided unit rather than on of the smaller units on North Walls. A discount retailer could be the one that is going to be inconvenienced by the Western Relief Road?
