Staffordshire technology park has a lot of empty offices/spaces in modern buildings (air con might be useful, especially for the "severe obese" category. Some haven't been let since they were built (I am led to believe) so the owners may well be willing to negotiate.
the techonology park used to have a air resistance machine type gym up there about 7-8 years ago, it lasted about 6 months, but used to be fairly busy..

Goldilocks, you may come up with some resistance from the planning department in trying to change the use of office space at Stafford technology park to a gym. Planners can get particularly protective of what uses they will and won't allow. As such, it's always worth a chat with the planning department before you spend any money or time negotiating.

In my personal opinion I would look elsewhere (sorry Shoes). In an ideal world, your best to look for premises that were previously used as a gym or in a less 'prime' location, i.e. Aston Fields or hiring out a venue.

I'm not turning it into a gym using the floor space for classes and personal training sessions, I'm not putting any type of machines in their like a gym, only the odd piece of cardiovascular equipment like a treadmill.

The rest will be kettlebells, battle ropes and simple things.

Thanks everyone

Ha ha ha thanks! They'll be no leotards on my watch

Could your ask the Mrs Trumpet if she knows how many personal trainers are there or how many females?

If not I can call them up

Thanks

I think there's been way too much locationism in this thread :D, no-one has recommended living in the north end!!

Not only is the north end of Stafford the most well-provisioned for cycle paths, with the Stafford to Newport cycle track traversing our area, (this is also National cycleway No. 5 )- http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/beaconside-to-derrington-cycle-route. enabling car free travel to town and other areas of Stafford, we are also sandwiched between the best open spaces in Stafford, The Common,

and Doxey Marshes Nature reserve http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doxey_Marshes.

The aforementioned cycleway goes across the Doxey Marshes:

Furthermore, the schools are brilliant, Balfour just got an excellent Ofsted report:

and primaries: http://www.parkside.staffs.sch.uk/keyinfo.asp

And there are loads of good houses!!

The final reason the North is best is because we don't have to venture near the gridlock which masquerades as a road known as the A34 Lichfield Rd. This links Baswich, Wildwood and most of the rest of the South end of town to Stafford. Traffic is much much better in the north end than the south as there are less of us!

Sebastian Vettel was house hunting in Doxey at the weekend

And who can blame him!

He's rich!
