A full forensic investigation has established that it's probably from a Dremel wire wheel.I am now able to walk again.
For the last 36 hours, I have had an increasing problem with my left heel. by this morning it was impossible to put any weight on it at all.
The issue manifested itself as a very sharp stabbing pain, whenever even the slightest weight was put on it.
It was clear that it wasn't, as I had initially hoped, going to clear itself, so investigation of the site was necessary.
This was achieved with great contortion of the affected limb and strong illumination from a torch.
Initially, there was just no sign of anything untoward, but then a very slight glint was observed.
This resulted, with careful application of tweezers, in the end a piece of very fine wire being grasped and the whole length, about 3mm, being extracted.
There is still some residual effect, but that is bearable and should subside quickly over time.
I now feel able to attempt the weekly shop.
We had our first one last month, from Cornwall.Just received our first christmas card in the post .
The same thing happened to me a few months ago, a piece of very fine copper wire. For the last 36 hours, I have had an increasing problem with my left heel. by this morning it was impossible to put any weight on it at all.

I might ask you for details on that, I thought that mine would be cleared when I turned 50, as I've only had to make a few payments when I've earned over the threshold.....but I've heard nothing from them & can't find any documentation on it.Student loan got written off, just as my wages finally got to the point I'd have to start paying it back!
I thought 50 too, but was actually 25 years. Mine are 97 - 2000.... I've not paid anything in years, but not received a finalising letter either....tried to get in touch but as I couldn't find my account details they couldn't help....I thought 50 too, but was actually 25 years. My loans are dated 96-98.
I once saw a TV program featuring student loans. Some people featured had actually paid off their loans, but employers still stopping installments. Were told they have to inform 'them' that no more payments should be taken in that instance , as they would still automatically take it from pay even no more owing.I might ask you for details on that, I thought that mine would be cleared when I turned 50, as I've only had to make a few payments when I've earned over the threshold.....but I've heard nothing from them & can't find any documentation on it.

I usually get a statement each year, but nothing for at least 3 years... I'm 53 now, so maybe it was just lost in the post...

Yeah employers don’t know what your balance is, only that you’re on a loan planI once saw a TV program featuring student loans. I've made a note for son, on the date after 30 years, to contact student loan company if payments still being taken.

Been there, done that. Unfortunately as I'd only just picked the car up, the spares were on passenger seat. Enter locksmith stage left and £100 bill.Learnt my lesson....don't throw my keys into my bag whilst loading the shopping into the boot, then sling my bag in the car whilst taking the trolley to the trolley bay right next to it! Whilst searching for my keys in their usual place in my coat pocket .... Clunk....self locking kicked in, locking keys and phone inside . Luckily only a 40 minute walk to home and back to get hubbys keys
My car automatically locks after a few minutes of being unattended, if no-one is in it?!Learnt my lesson....don't throw my keys into my bag whilst loading the shopping into the boot, then sling my bag in the car whilst taking the trolley to the trolley bay right next to it! My spare key is currently in the front pocket of my handbag. Not a good place to keep it.Been there, done that. Unfortunately as I'd only just picked the car up, the spares were on passenger seat. Enter locksmith stage left and £100 bill.
I don't normally put it in my bag , but for some reason slung it in , and being next to trolley bay decided those few minutes would be safe .My car automatically locks after a few minutes of being unattended, if no-one is in it?!

Eldest did it with the car running, popped in the house to collect something & car locked, £150 for locksmith to slide window down ...which if we had googled we could have done......Been there, done that.
