Found out a £22 special treat bottle of Avito Pinot Grigio tastes the same as a £4.99 bottle of.plonk from Tesco....well to me a none- wine drinker it did .😅

Nice , but prefer my cider !

Mowed the lawn.

Mowed the lawn mower cable by accident.

Decided I'm an actual adult & I can fix this thing.

Fixed this thing!

Most impressed with my self.

No one tell the carer (he doesn't read this so much). But he would be mortified that I'd messed with electrical items. (He won't notice though as he doesn't use the mower)

Bloody impressed with myself.

My mate asked why the hell I was going to see Bruce Springsteen as all of his songs are just chest beating america is great type songs, now removing the fact that I like country music and a lot of that is chest beating america is great type songs, I had to educate him on the example he gave, Born in the usa. He conceded but it didnt change his opinion. His loss.
I too hate when people misrepresent the message of "Born in the USA"

It's snowing here, so any driver can use public transport for free by showing their car registration card. I don't have one, and already had a 5 day pass, so miss out on the freebie but the gesture is a good one.

Have you left Hubby inside, because you've still got his pyjamas..?
He came down ages after. I grabbed my bag, car keys , jacket & ran. Luckily false alarm or he'd have been a pile of cinders.
Stopped in so many hotels that have caught fire , as well as false alarms.
Manager was going mad about how many didn't bother getting out, assuming false alarms each time.

Learnt from past experience of standing freezing outside Imperial Hotel, Blackpool in the early hours of Boxing day . Only wearing my skimpy nightie , and platform shoes that I'd grabbed on way out, along with son & dog.
( that was a fire in kitchens)
Always have clothes , car keys , handbag etc ready to grab easily on way out since then!

And tip......metal fire escapes are treacherous when wet!

Hard to get out of sitting all day, although at least you can use your laptop. If you get called to a case say the defendant looks really familiar but you can't place them?

One of our jury fluffed reading the oath at the start and got taken out and a replacement sent in. Don't know what happened to original one ...

After my first murder case ended, the rest of my jury went on a 2nd case straight after. I'd told the desk that M-I-L had mentioned someone we knew in West Brom was due up in Stafford Crown Court. I probably wouldn't have recognised them anyway if she hadn't have said, but I didn't get called for that one and got dismissed from duty.

Good luck trying to get out of it @Cue

Yes, they've called me up twice. Couldn't get out of it either time. Although I did get dismissed from one when I realised my dad worked at the place where one of the deaths happened & I knew several others that worked there to.

Sigh. My turn with a jury summons.

They can feck right off. I have a business to run.
Get yourself a criminal record, worked for me

In a hurry? Get yourself arrested and bailed for something minor, that’ll do too

Having a ‘ mental disorder ‘ gets you excused , but you have to prove it ( see Joseph Heller )

Also, being a lighthouse keeper, always handy to know

I did have a look to see what was scheduled but you can’t see that far ahead

Best go and get that overdue neurodivergence diagnosis off Bupa…

Found you a place without the padded walls
As far as I know, there are only 2 proper seclusion rooms that have the padded walls. 1 is in Stafford, and I believe the other is over at Shrewsbury/ Shelton.
God yes, just what I need. 2 weeks bed rest & someone to cook for me every day...
3 meals a day + all the snacks you can eat. Someone to change your bed, clean your toilet and generally make sure you're ok. No telly in your room tho, unless the carer is prepared to bring one in for you, and only then if you are deemed not to be a risk to yourself and possibly others.
