I'm just trying to pack.
We're off to Carmarthenshire tomorrow, might stay the weekend, might stay the week, depends on the weather.

I have no idea what to take, or how much. So much to think about with a self catering British holiday, as most of you know.

I'm probably taking about 4 times the amount that I take to Spain.

It's making my head spin so I've decided to have a few gin and tonics while I give it more thought.

Today I fell out of the bin.

The bin was full of cardboard and I got in in to stamp it down.

This is something that I do regularly particularly with the garden rubbish.

My luck ran out today. I got in and was in the process of stamping down when the bin toppled.

I had a very horrid few seconds when I realised that I was going over. My head hit the concrete with a right crack. I was dazed for a few minutes, I have a lump on the back of my head the size of an egg.

I toyed with the idea of going to the hospital but I haven't got time, I have 3 Christmas cakes to put marzipan on.

Just asked a homeless pair outside the amusements place on Bridge street if they were hungry and all they wanted was a can of Coke and a portion of chips to share.

Quite refreshing that they didn't push for spare change or a bucket of food.

Happy to oblige but I'm not sure the offer to go to Costa Rica if they won the Coke competition is a goer :) :)

I survived! It was a very nice experience and Spawn2 loved it. We were almost eaten but were evacuated just in time. If anyone else is thinking of going I have a voucher so let me know.

On a sadder note my Aunts lovely dog has passed away very suddenly so the day is bittersweet.

Can't believe the idiots down our road!
We all had letters asking not to park on pavements today as tarmaccing. Big signs out along the pavements. So someone who never ever leaves their car on the pavement, as they have a long driveway, plonks it there last night and its still there preventing the workmen getting on with the job :ohno:

Glad you survived the dinosaurs @Gadget.
But so sorry to hear the sad news of the dog

Arrived at our little holiday home in Carmarthenshire, in the middle of nowhere.
We were greeted by the owner (lovely Aussie from Sydney). He lives in the main house with his wife and children and we are in the converted milking parlour.
The back garden is 40 acres which we intend to explore tomorrow before venturing further afield.
Currently sitting on the terrace at the back of the property under the gazebo, bottle of fizz chilling out.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Refereed two u8 pre-season friendly matches today and was asked by the kids playing to have a minute silence in tribute to Bradley Lowery. I have to say it was a lovely gesture. Bradley really has touched the lives of a lot of people.

Today's day out was to Pembrey Country Park and Beach which was lovely.
520 acres of woodland and open areas, 8 miles of beach.

There was just so much space for people to put up tents, have picnics or a BBQ or just walk.
There was cycle hire, horse riding, camping, ..we just totally loved it.

Walked on the beach and then through the country park and had a picnic in a lovely little clearing with a view to the Gower peninsula.

Got back to our little home from home and had a gin and tonic on the terrace.

We then went for a walk in the back garden and we met these lovely fellas.

We went over the border into Pembrokeshire today.
First stop a lovely little village called Amroth. Not much there but very pleasant to walk around.

We then moved further on down the coast to Saundersfoot where we had a lovely coastal walk followed by fish and chips sitting near the beach.
Wish I'd put salt on my chips instead of sugar but never mind, the fish was nice. The sun came out too.

Next stop for the afternoon was the village of Manorbier. I'd seen it on TV (Penelope Keith's Hidden Villages). Lovely little place right by the sea and with a castle right in the middle.

Back at the converted cow shed now, sitting outside, bottle of fizz as per usual.

Just done something completely stooooopid !!!

Took the washed bathmats off the clothes maid to finish them off in the tumble dryer. Put the clothes maid away and couldn't find the bath mats anywhere.......... only gone and put them back in the washing machine and started the wash . (And rather worrying that I'm doing things without even knowing I'm doing them ......hubby found a mixture of salt and pepper pouring out onto his chips the other day, after I'd filled the half empty 'pepper' pot.Think old age is creeping in ? :hmm: )

@Carole Glad it's not only me who does things like putting sugar on my chips :D (Once poured custard over my roast dinner in a hotel buffet, thinking it was onion sauce . Wondered why the chef was looking mortified at the time, until I sat down to eat it ... )

AAAAAAaaaaargh...Think I'll be needing that bed @Glam . Within minutes of hubby coming in from work, he's dropped a whole litre of tomato juice onto the carpet ! So instead of our usual nightly walk, he's gone off walking on his own while I've gone nuts and had to get the carpet shampooer out .

Surely you should be going on the walk and he should clean up?
I came down from upstairs to find him rubbing it into the carpet with a towel :ohno: ........ If I'd left him to do it, I'd end up re-doing it myself in the end to get it done properly. (Shampooing it up wasn't too much bother, just takes bloody ages setting the machine up and cleaning it out afterwards.) Most maddening thing about it, it was only shampooed last week after he'd dropped a bottle of whisky on it. Sure he does it on purpose
