Went to Stoke properly for the first time yesterday. It's just as dystopian and awful as I expected.

Also, never take the east roads back... country B-roads, national speed limit, pitch black. Eugh, that was not a fun drive home.

I love the Symphony Hall, I have only been to see pop gigs there, but what an amazing venue.

We love the Symphony Hall too but realised that I'm the opposite to what you said.... in all the years we've been going there, I've only ever been to classical concerts and never seen a pop gig there.

Would you actually be allowed in with dark hair?

I'm probably being really stupid but I've no idea what you mean :soz:

I would quite to go when it's empty, it almost feels like a cathedral. When I went last time I looked into the history and how it all works, it's awe inspiring.

I used to work there and at the I.C.C in the catering department. It's a strange place when it's empty and dark. In fact when you get past the public bits it becomes a warren of corridors that feel like tunnels. lifts that go to odd little corners and very nice rooms that you wonder why they are tucked away. There is nothing quite like trundling a refrigerated box bigger than yourself up a dimly lit corridor/tunnel at 1am and thinking you can hear someone behind you...

Professor Brian Cox is visiting the college today, and I'm off ill. Gutted is an understatement :(
 Get better soon

I love Brian Cox, I've learnt more watching him on TV , as he explains things so well, than from any of my old science teachers. I might have actually enjoyed physics lessons at school if he had been teaching them.

After a sleepless tuesday night worrying , turned out to be nothing to worry about at all after a 9am call to an offfice yesterday......Another sleepless night spent worrying last night, call to another office as soon as they opened this morning ...nothing to worry about at all ..

In addition, a night of worrying son had been mugged or something on his walk back from work in the early hours as he hadn't sent his promised text and mine were going unanswered......worry now over, he'd forgotten and gone straight to bed when he got safely home.

Must stop worrying ..

When I come back from the football my Dad always says to text him once I've got home (after I've dropped him off). It's amazing how easily you forget to do something 15 minutes later, I often get a text an hour or so later, when no doubt he's worried I've had a crash in the lanes.

Picking son up from work when he finishes his shift at midnight. Got another 3 hours hoping it doesn't freeze up or snow before I start my late night drive down to Worcester and back. (And hoping there's no overnight motorway closures, or I might get hopelessly lost all on my own-io ... always seems to be when I'm suddenly diverted off into pastures new that the satnav decides to announce "Lost satallite connection")

Do you have an android phone? You can download an offline area in google maps just in case, although I never remember until I can't get a signal!

Hmmmm......just been messing around with my android phone trying to follow instructions to do as you suggest.... so far I've just managed to be told I'm 11 minutes from home .... I've got no minutes left until midnight when they refresh either (as many minutes plus my buffer has been used hanging on the phone several times this week whilst enquiring about my xray results.) Just got to hope all goes smoothly !

Big 2009 Road Atlas now sitting on the car seat, just incase like... :D

Talking about immediately being put on hold once eventually managing to get through to the doctors surgery receptionist...walked across today to enquire yet again about my results (as I've run out of minutes). While I was waiting at the desk, their phone rang and was picked up only for the receptonist to say to the person on the other end "Can I put you on hold?.." and watched her jump up out of her seat with a pile of papers and stand sorting them into piles for a few minutes.. :ohno:

Off down to London later 'doing' Mrs T's family graves. Three cemeteries spread across North London. Stopping over and stopping off at Brum on the way back tomorrow.

We broke our tradition for the first time ever this year and put our tree up the night before the 1st Dec .

Hardly slept and now feeling like sh1te with a sore throat . Saw a cop van driving down the road and back at 3am, think they must have been watching a neighbour up who was taking stuff out of his car boot..

Taking son and hubby to the West Brom game, and pick them up again later for a drive back down to Worcester. Got a few days of hotel luxury ahead :)

Contemplating whether to come back home for a few hours inbetween, or spend lots and lots of money in Boundary Mills to kill a few hours.

Rather annoyed at hubbys "That might mean us hanging around for a few minutes if you time it wrong!" :blah: "at my suggestion for me to fill up with petrol by the footie ground , and they can jump back in the car there.

Or you could fill up with another Maccies at the outlet over the road from the ground :)

Tree’s up, had to run to B&Q as our original from Dunelm was not only sparsely packed but the wife had an allergic reaction to it - and yes it was artificial.

No matter. The new tree is 1.5 ft bigger and the lights we got for it are nicer than the crap that came pre-lit on the old one.

Today I sort the outdoor stuff
