Yep, works fine on my sammy galaxy though still throws up a security warning ( name on site does not match name on certificate) at first (mind you facebook throws up three).
I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 and i dont get any security warnings when browsing this forum on my phone, the forum looks very good and is very easy to read and brows from my phone.

I had problems with it on my cheapass Galaxy Europa, but that phone is bobbins anyway and i'm getting rid of it. I do like the iPhone site.
The only real problem I'm having on the PC is that it is really slow to load now, and it keeps forgetting who I am. This could be my rubbish laptop though.

I got a database error today and some slowness so i am assuming the site was being worked on, it is fine now though.

That's good to know, thanks Darren. Sounds like it might be a third party app or some configuration setting that is giving you false warnings, joshua. :hmm:

My iPad loves it, I love it as well!
Thanks, ChrisLewis! I really appreciate feedback from a 'corporate' perspective, so little comments like this are invaluable. :)

Toble, you know I have always held your technical knowledge in high regard, and I know that you weren't a big fan of the initial Forum design post-migration, so this is music to my ears. Thanks very much. :)

I believe the 'Remember me' box when logging-in is unchecked by default; I'll see if I can swap this, as I suspect most people would prefer to stay logged-in (especially in the mobile view, which does away with the sidebar). Obviously, the option to Log Out will remain, at the top-right as always.

The Forum was offline briefly yesterday (Monday), as our host had a bit of a funny turn and had to reboot! Only lasted for 15 minutes or so, at the most. Hopefully all should be well now. :)

Thanks for all the feedback, people (good and bad) - keep it coming!

The security issue will happen if he is using https:// instead of http://
Indeed - sorry, I should have made that more clear when I said:

Well, we don't even have a certificate (you can't even access The Forum via SSL, as far as I'm aware), so no wonder you're getting a warning! Do you have some kind of weird browser add-on that tries to force HTTPS for every site?
As Darren says, you can't access The Forum via SSL/HTTPS (or, at least, you can't without a warning).

I think the faded banner is too faded, I liked the old stile full colour better and faded is just too wishy washy, so one vote for lets see the pic properly.
By the way it dosent show as much as it did, the top seems to be missing.
I like the size of the new photo and I think the style of the forum would be missing something without a header pic. From an aesthetic point of view it might look better if we could see the bridge in its entirety (as that is a Stafford landmark) and lose a bit of the water. Or at least have a try to see how it looks. Whatever the outcome more opaque will definitely be better. :)
Is that any better? :raise:

I think I've fixed the problem of The Forum not displaying correctly on very small screens (e.g. Android phones). I have wrapped the adverts and the RSS widgets in conditionals, so that they will disappear if your screen size isn't wide enough to accommodate them. I have tested it on my phone, and it seems to have fixed it. :)
Had to clear my cashe and cookies today, just thought I would let you know that the new style still wont work for me, still getting the Transcoder message. Not that I mind now that I can get it back to old forum style, just thought the info might be useful ;) Keep up the good work Admin!

Darn, the alert inbox tab is harder to see, tho the pic is better.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't, so I will have adapt to whatever you decide.

Of course what you really need is a pic that shades lighter on the left and right so the tabs show up more.

Yes I'm getting a bit annoying now, I know. lol

gotta say, i'm loving this new style, and it's defo going to make me post more imo.. it's so much easier on the iPad now, so I can sit here posting nonsense while watching people bake cakes on the telebox :keke:

only minor fault is that you lose the wysiwyg editor on the iPad, so I have to remember bbcode for the first time since the upgrade last year, but I think that's more the nature of a mobile device than the fault of the style!

that's just the URL to this site.. you're accessing it via HTTPS though, even though it doesn't say so above - it's impossible to get a cert error without HTTPS..

the common name on the warning is a248.e.akamai.net
If you google that server name, it explains what it's all about.. it does sound like something is causing your Internet traffic to be redirected over HTTPS for some reason.. regardless, i don't think it's the forum, as evidenced by you seeing the same behaviour on Facebook/other sites :hmm:

see here, for example: http://revealingerrors.com/akamai_ssl

I use Opera mini as a browser. Sometime on Saturday evening I started getting the error message "Oops Failed to transcode url Transcoder: z12-1"

Do you get this with any other web sites? Have you ever seen the message (or anything similar) before, or do you only get it with Stafford Forum? :raise:

I have just downloaded the opera mini on my galaxy 3 and i got the same error when browsing this forum, i dont know what is causing it but you can fix it by going to Operas settings and enabling single column view, i hope this helps.

Hi Admin, Ive only ever seen this error message on Stafford forum, on other websites I only ever get the standard page not available error message. Im more than happy with viewing the forum old-styleee though, it was just an info thing :)

Hi Darren, Ive tried Opera in single column/mobile view, its pants! For some reason the buttons are out of sync so pressing 'Forum' brings up the 'contact us' page etc etc. db told me how to reset the forum style back to the old forum style and that works fine for me - much better to view things in web page view rather than mobile/single column. Thank you for your help though :)
